Hi, from what I understand to be eligible for a Motability grant, you must receive a qualifying mobility allowance and meet the grant's specific eligibility criteria:
Many people put most if not all of their enhanced PIP benefit towards a mobility car. If your in receipt of this benefit maybe that would be something to think about maybe.

I got refused pip twice and unsure how to sort it I suffer ADHD also
Hi there, you may like to talk to the FMAUK benefits advisor you can do this by checking out the link below.healthunlocked.com/fibromya...
I used to get Employment support Allowance when I could no longer work then later PIPS aswell until I reached retirement age and got the pension but still PIPS aswell. Not sure if ESA is still available or is now under a different named benefit. A benefit advisor will tell you plus you should be able to get help filling in a form to apply for PIPs again as they know what to put and word things so you are not refused.Good luck
Hi there, if you don't mind me asking, for how long did you get ESA as I'm currently getting it but I'm only 56, not near retirement age. Also, did you have to, every 3 months send in certificates to say you cannot work? Thank you and all the best. X
I got ESA from when I could no longer work through ill health aged 50. When I got more illnesses I also claimed PIPS with it.When I reached 66 the ESA stopped aa I then got state pension. No I never had to produce any certificates but I had to attend a review after a few years. Maybe UC has replaced it but that us not enough for you to live on
You should be able to get new style ESA . There are two types. Contribution based if you have other income or savings higher than the threshold. Or income based if you don't have any savings. I think Universal credit is replacing income based but not contribution based. Best to speak to a benefit advisor either from here or citizens advice because it's not as you might think all plain sailing. Best to have a professional look at things for you because you could miss out and the DWP rely on people not knowing what they are entitled to. It has been reported by the current government that 26.7 billion in unclaimed benefits by people who are technically eligible. Go get your cut ... that's what you've paid for while working. Good luck 🤞
If you claim Universal Credit, you will need to give 3 months worth of fit notes in to them go onto LCWRA. You will need an assessment for it also. Try to claim PIP again and take it all the way to tribunal if you need to. I can advise you better if I know your current benefit circumstances
Me too I never feel well enough to go out, I lie on the couch all day watching TV, I do force myself out sometimes and then spend days in bed trying to recover, so I understand how you feel take care 🙂
