I would like to thank everyone of you for the support and kind words and most of all advice. I have only just started looking into what fibro actually is and does. I have to admit that I am almost as ignorant as most doctors about the facts. I must also point out I may not have it. I have no proof and have not been diagnosed. The many problems we all share could just be coincidence, or my illness could all just be in my head. I seem to have a vague memory of being told that a brain scan (is it MRI?) Could possibly if done illiminate the chances that I am faking it. From what little I have seen on TV you can look at brain activity (like they analyse dreams) and see what is going on relating to you feeling pain or not. In the drug recovery world they often mention diabetes. If they found an "insulin" for our condition I am sure we would all be happy to take it until death. I am quite happy to be a Guinea pig for any possible treatment. If it helped one sufferer for one day it is worth it. Massage therapy and music therapy and meditation are all high on my list of pain relief today. They are not a cure, but they all help some. I want to thank you all again and feel I need to find out more about it ( Just in case I do have it.) I can see this becoming a constant saying of mine for many reasons but mostly because it's true "feeling your pain man"

Hi there nice to meet you The only true way to know if you have fibro or anything else would be talking it over with your GP. Fibro is diagnosed through elimination and that can only be done by your doctor I'm afraid.
Blood tests, Xrays visit with a rheumatologist for example. These tests can take a long time but it's the only sure way to know if you have fibro and not any other illness that maybe been missed and going undiagnosed.
I have had Fibro for over 30 yrs and it took 10 years before I got a diagnoses. But that was back in the day. These days diagnoses seems to be made much faster because most GPs now know what to they are looking for. Or more accurately know what they are not looking for lol and can quickly rule other life threatening illnesses out. Then what you tend to be left with is fibro xx
