Awaiting PIP tribunal.. DWP called with offer

As said in the title, I'm suddenly feeling heartened.. I initially scored 0 for daily living and 4 for mobility. They've offered std rate daily living allowance without going to tribunal. I believe I should qualify for lower mobility and higher daily living.

Sorry to the point.. 😊 Has anyone been in this position? I asked if I could call back tomorrow when more prepared. I intend to ask her about what,/why I haven't qualified for certain descriptors. Is she qualified to discuss and negotiate this outcome? Or does the tribunal beckon..

They make these offers when they think they will lose at Tribunal. They have admitted in the media that the offers are lower than a Tribunal might decide. If you have good evidence to back up your appeal, go for it, but if you are unsure, take the bird in the hand.

Sounds like they are offering you a lower award, in hopes you will drop the Tribunal. Go for your day before the Tribunal. DWP will often offer a lower settlement like this.

I have just had my PIP assessment over the phone last week and called again this week to answer more questions the DWP has asked them to get answers for it will be interesting to see what I get keep strong x

Go to tribunal, they are held by telephone because of the virus. It is not something to do a deal with. They are trying to get you on the cheap.

Thank you all, I called them back yesterday with pen in hand and asked what she had awarded points for, she said she couldn't divulge that and was clear there was no negotiation. Felt like she couldn't justify her opinion; as opposed to wouldn't. So 7 months after applying, I hope the tribunal is by phone

Tell them you are continuing to Tribunal. They will try to bully you into accepting a lower award, because they are getting clobbered at Tribunals.
