I finally won my tribunal claim for pip. A huge Releif that I'm going to get the help I deserve. Its been a long and very stressful road, its made my condition worse with all the stress. I had the appeal via phone and was quite intense. Was wondering if anyone has won back there claim through a tribunal what happens next? I've had the letter from the tribunal stating dwp has 30 days to decline the decision made but has anyone been declined the payment and gone higher tribunal. Or have had the payment, how long did u have to wait for the backdated payment. Thanks in advance

Pip Appeal Tribunal
Ah I’ve just posted about this! What did they ask you? I’ve got no idea what to expect with a phone appeal. Mines on the 3rd Sept!
Congratulations on winning
They just ask you how your condition affects you, how you cope on a typical day, how you mange your symtoms etc. Have a look at this link will help you more understand. And how they score you. Make sure you got a friend or family for support, if there's something you don't understand they will repeat the questions and you take it in your own time to answer.

Thank you
Congratulations for winning - its about time i heard a happy bit of news connected to PIP! I've just got my pip paperwork through this week for my tribunal and im quite scared - in the report for tribunal they state that if i am as bad as i say i am then i shouldn't be driving as i would be a danger on the road and the DVLA should be notified, and that i get carers allowance that says i care for my autistic son for 35 hours per week and that needs carefully looking into too? I am so upset that they have described me the way they have, and i really dont know what to do. They have deemed that as i suffer from fibro fog, memory issues, and the usual fibro confusion normals that we all know and dont love that i therefore shouldn't be driving, that was used all the way through my pip claim, every descriptor mentioned that if i have grip, concentration and coordination to drive a car then i can dress myself, wash myself, cook myself, know where im going and plan journeys, etc - every single descriptor was the same reasoning, she can do this as she can drive a car! i done the MR and got added lower mobility so both at low rate, but i know how i feel and how i suffer and it makes me feel sick to know and feel that but have them say its all wrong and as i drive im a liar? how many people suffer from fibro fog etc that drive? its different - how is i cant dress my top half myself the same as but i must be able to coz i drive? I really dont know if i should stop my appeal? Im sorry for the long post but i am actually scared! xx
Hi hen-house, they just trying to scare you into stopping your appeal, don't, I was like you and nearly didn't but so glad I went. My advise to you is read the guidelines posted on here and what points you lost on and give an reason to panel why you should of been awarded e.g examples of struggles. Just remember why you went to appeal in the first place and good luck Claire xx
Thankyou... I was like that, with all the stress and anxiety. It wasn't easy to go through its made it worse. Just make sure you read your documents be honest and tell the truth. There's so many people that don't go through with it and missed out on intitlement. I had both my pip and universal credit within the same week and because my pip one was soo horrific (not trying to scare you) I didn't want to do it all over again but I pushed myself an hour and its done. Look at this link this is how they will score you. All the best
I have never heard of DWP objecting during the 30 days. You will eventually receive a letter from DWP confirming your award and the backdated benefit payment. If you have not heard after 6 weeks, chase them up.
Hy pleased 4 you it's horrific I had 2 court sessions as first one to upset I was unable to speak panel were Horrible !! 2months later I was there .judge doc healthcare could not have been.better so releived it was around 6 weeks I had to wait but worth it you get all your money backdated to day it stopped I believe it's rare for DWP to try to stop so keep smiling worth your wait. Look after yourself bye joy
Great news 🌷
