Thankyou for your reply.I have left it too late to get anyone to go with me.My husband has a hospital appointment on the same dayand it's very important that he goes to that.I have been to a tribunal before for DLA so I have a rough idea what to expect.I am more .worried about getting into the magistrates court from getting out of the taxi and about 50 yards walk over a bridge.I am nearly 68 years old and have difficulty walking.I will have to keep stopping for a rest and just hope for the best.X

Just do that then .it is terrible .at tribunal please take your time and rest going to room and let them see at room how slow you are walking before you sit.PS .it is a disgrace this is at a magistrates court makeing it look more like a court .they where meant to be outlawing this. Take care good luck x

Hi dennydee

I am hearing many people having to hand back mobility cars which I think is unfair as it immediately impacts on people's independence. Some people work alongside PIP or even ESA (16hrs or under maximum £400 I believe) and need transport to work with a disability - the whole welfare system is ridiculous in my opinion!

Best of Luck for the Tribunal ..... and all the best for 2018 ! :)

Hi lot of people on renewals and old dla for long term are getting caught out on pip assessment with rule change 50 metres now reduced to 20 metres for their mobility cars they depend on.old claimants do not think there will be a problem till lose car etc and do not get advice as they do not realise .also a lot of older claimants reliable on mobility car .do not realize they cannot do it reapeatly and majority of time it is a shame and unfair.and to go through stress of appeal they cannot handle that .

Thankyou.I will have to go it alone,I have left it too late to get anyone to go with me.I am nearly 68 and was on DLA before going over to PIP.I had a face to face assessment at home and I am sure the HP was writing about someone else and not me.She even said that I visit my mum numerous times a week.My mum passed away in 2005 !.I will let you know the outcome. Please please make a complaint about this and tell them you are going to sue this is wrong and claimants can get upto £5000 on this sort of mess or lies and please also mention this at appeal .write down all this etc before you go to appeal and take with you ..and phone to make a complaint and tell assessors company you are going to take them to court .they will not defend this .if you can manage this .even if you do not want to still complain to wot you just said take Care p.s wish you where in Edinburgh I would be going with you and rep you and let rip to them take care

Ew on your own? Could you find an advocate? If you investigate you may find there is a voluntary law service that gives Law students experience. Really you should have a friend too else they see you as too capable rather than lacking in suitable friends or family. Maybe Salvation Army person might like to help? These appeals can feel very stressful and a companion can help you feel more composed and able to state your case. It is too easy to get wound up and stressed even though we all know it does no good. If you are the sort to get stressed it really does take it's toll. Someone to pick you up after and chew the fat over a coffee and a bun will help you keep some perspective. Try to remember despite their office those judging you are just people. I wish you the best of luck.

Hi thanks for your advice.I don't have anyone to go to the tribunal with me. I have been to a tribunal before for DLA so I have a rough idea of what to expect.I had a face to face assessment in my home and the health profressional told many lies in her report. She even said that I visit my mother numerous times a week.My mother passed away in 2005.I couldn't believe some of the things that she had put in the report.I am nearly 68 years old and am determend to tell the tribunal the truth. The main problem that I have is that when the taxi dropps me off I have to walk over abridge about 50 yards to get to the magistrates court.I know I will have to stop and rest many times to get there.I hope it's not snowing or raining lol !!!.I will let you know the outcome.X
