Hi, I posted over a week ago, regarding my tribunal hearing date, which was yesterday. It lasted over an hour and I found it very uncomfortable and stressful. The judge and the doctor were nice and fair, but the third person ( I forgot who she was now) was quite harsh and really went in on me I felt. I never want to have to do that again, i just can’t cope with things like that. I initially received 6 points for daily living and 4 points for mobility. It was mostly the daily living I disagreed with. Anyway I’ve had an email this morning to say the decision has been made and a letter has or will be sent to me. Has anyone had any experience of a quick decision like this? And does it mean a good or bad decision, or is this just how the tribunal do their decisions like this quick?. I know it’ll only be a few days but I’m no anxious about it and the wait is going to be so stressful. I wish they could just give it us on the email to save the waiting. I came off the call thinking they won’t change their minds with how harsh the 3rd lady was, but I’m still really hoping 🤞 any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you xxx

I'm sorry you found the tribunal stressful, but well done for getting through it, The third person would be someone who had an understanding about disability, but the opinions of all 3 people in the tribunal will be considered.
You do normally get a decision quickly after a tribunal, so there's nothing to read into this. Here's hoping you get the right result.
After having to wait a year for my husband to go to a ESA tribunal who said they needed more medical evidence and then waiting another year for the second tribunal I can totally emphasise with your situation . He was so stressed at the end of thr second one he never even heard their decision properly and I had to explain it to him. They actually asked us to leave the room and about 15 minutes later called us in and gave us their ruling. It was followed a week later by the paper decision. At the first one a panel member was what I thought was quite aggresive it was as though it was a bad cop good cop routine. It was actually a completely different panel the second time.
I sincerely hope they decide in your favour. My husbands points went from 0 to 20 and we actually had an apology from the judge saying the case should never have come to tribunal and they would be sending a stern letter to the DWP especially as to how husband's first interview with the nurse was conducted. Please let us know how you get on, everything crossed for you.x
Hi, thank you for your reply, I’m so glad your husband got the outcome he deserved eventually. It’s just terrible that we have to go through all this in the first place, it’s not as if we don’t already have enough to deal with. Thank you xxx I will let you know after the agonising wait Xxx
I couldn't do it again. I had to go to tribunal bc it was discovered a GP lied about me. I was awarded DLA until it was changed to PIP then after an interview they took away. I didn't want to go tribunal again just to have apply again a year later.
Also bc the main treatment for fibro is exercise I got a mark against me for going to the gym. The gym makes me so much happier I didn't want it to be something they could use against me.
Fingers cross you will have a good outcome, l had similar experience during my appeal hearing the 3rd person at the hearing is supposed to be disability specialise but my experience proved to me they are more against disabled people and have no idea of how our disability impacts and affects our life, in my own experience the judge and doctor were more sympathetic of my condition than the supposed disability adviser and l hope they are not working for DWP secretly .
PIP is not given for a condition, but for what you can and can't do. I think it's a weird system, myself. The 3rd lady was probably a DWP person, trying to make you give up.
Cheers, Midori
