Hello Everyone,
Hope you all are doing good. Sorry for a long post but I am hoping I can get some guidance from the members of this community
I had Vitamin D deficiency beginning of March and had pain in chest and arms, lower body due to various reasons ( could be gastric, or due to few stretches I did around that time) but all that is settled now and am now left with aching hands.
My G.P suggested a month back that since the pain has been so widespread I might have fibromyalgia and asked me to read up on it and come back so that we can start antidepressant treatment. I personally don't think I have either fibro or depression. But I understand how antidepressants can help in treatment.
Would like to know the community view on my situation - Currently, I have tingling and burning numbness in my hands and occasionally arms. I can sleep perfectly well and I feel my hands are mostly fine when i wake up. As I start my day, the feeling comes back. Sometimes it's fine and when I use my hand to work on computer or physical work - tingling and numbness comes back. It doesn't hurt much (not like pain but strange burning heavy feeling) these days but tingling and heavy feeling is there. Is that what happens in fibromyalgia or its pain?
Has anyone experienced the same?
Also occasionally veins in my palms appear more prominent than they used to. ( I am not sure if it's worth mentioning as my husband's also have veins appearing and he is fine. Just that it isn't my normal - or maybe I never noticed before.)
My BP is also high ( 140+/99) but GP said it couldn't be causing these and could be dealt later.
I am definitely stressed since March but I can sleep well and calm myself most of the times. Not sure if hand tingling is stress induced, physical symptoms or firbo.
I have to get back to my GP and thought I would ask this community of what they think.
I have already had blood test end of April and everything was normal in that. But since then I had been in lot of stress and had been on high vitamin D so am wondering if I could be low on magnesium? How frequently can one request test in NHS? Not sure if I can get another test as GP's seem very confident of my results.
Many Thanks.
