Hi im Andrea, im new to this site, im a mum of 3, ive suffered with depression and anxiety since loosing my mum at 9yrs old, she had MS.
I've always suspected fibromyalgia but no doctors seemed to listen as tests came back normal, i only got diagnosed I'm 2018 but still the doctors don't seem to understand it, it's so bloody frustrating. Being in pain from head to toe 99% of the time is hard enough, they must think we enjoy being like this!?
Nobody understands unless they have it!
Anyways, nice to meet u all x

healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., hello there, and welcome, yes very hard to find the right doctor, I did eventually by chance at my surgery. Having a little one is hard going as well, do you get any help from family to give you alittle break sometimes? a good site to come here and have a chat and read posts, just put a link above if you want to lock your posts, gives more privacy and not open to any other site engines on the internet. Having had both anxiety/depression I can relate to you, they changed my meds couple years back and it’s stopped and I hope it stays that way as it can get very draining on a person, but people living with fibro you can understand why some suffer this way. Xxx
Sorry to hear about losing your mum so young that must have been very hard for you. Having constant pain is frustrating and can really get to you some days. Especially when you have children to look after and can't just rest in bed which is what a lot of us have to do some days. It's about finding a empathic GP and the right combination of medication to manage your symptoms.
You can always find a supportive ear on here , stay safe in this difficult time.
Hi, thanks so much. Yes it's never easy. Nice to see im not alone or imagining my pain etc.... Finding a good gp is very difficult, especially when they say things like fibro pain is basically not real pain, they won't give me what i need because they are addictive but if they help me i don't care about anything else. Xx
It is real pain it’s just that our bodies respond to it differently than others. Ask if they can refer to pain clinic or a specialist in Fibro if have one in your area.
I went to a Patient course on it and found it fairly helpful.
Often things other than painkillers can be helpful. Have you tried Gabapentin or pregabalin? Amitriptylline at night can help. I found NSAIDs helpful but had to stop due to ulcers, take with anti acid/ ppi
