Hi this is the first time I have posted on this site , I have been diagnosed with fibro for a year and a half now although I had symptoms couple of years at least previously I also have IBS as well as depression and anxiety I have recently been awarded my ill health retirement from my role as a district nurse .
Lovely to see it is such a supportive site as I'm finding life is seeming very different and daunting with all this pain.

Welcome Nicky, nice to meet you. I dont know what you make of us this morning. we are playing. we tend to do that from time to time.
We can be serious when needed. have you been onto the mother site yet? here is the link fibroaction.org Take a look then you can come back to us to ask questions, have a chat or join in in any way that you like
Hi there. I saw your post and wanted to say you have accessed the right place, the people and admin team are the kindest, loving, informed and supportive group. The people on here have been amazing even giving me the courage to claim p.i.p which I was really scared of doing because I don't know enough and the find the whole process overwhelming. Even if your just having a rubbish day and your nearest and dearest don't seem to quite understand what your going through those here know and understand and you can read things that relate so very much which makes you realise you aren't mad it's all real.
Hi welcome to this sight im taking it that you probably have an awareness of fibro if not like May rose says follow the links this sight is so supported with good info about it. Hope you like this site the peeps are great. Gins has a coffee morning where everyone has surreal adventures lol, no really just friendly and I believe she was a nurse too. anyway welcome and there's always someone here for kind word or two.
Thank you so much for your reply- I didn't know that much about Fibro really but I'm definitely now finding out!!! Feel pretty exhausted today and I've only been to physio for accupuncture which doesn't seem to be helping much at all x
Hi there Nicky
Welcome to this lovely site.
Just a note to say when you post a message on here if you lock your message just to this community it gives you security that your post will stay on here.
I'm not sure that made any sense at all!!
When you put a post up at the bottom you have a choice to click to this site.
If you look at other people's posts you will see a padlock next to most of them.
I always try to remember to lock when I post on here.
Hopefully someone will come along and explain it better than I did
The pain is very daunting. My thoughts are with you
Xxx
Me again!
I just checked. You can click "everyone" or "community". If you click community your message will stay locked to this site. It's just to protect your privacy.
It was devastating when I first got symptoms. We were in Laughlin, Nevada in a hotel by the river. I drank a Creme de Mint and the pain shot through my body so horrifying that I started running to jump in the river and my husband went after me and had to hold me down. That was 30 years ago. I still get the same pain, but my mind is in better shape. Anger didn't help. Alcohol didn't help. What helps is being at peace. I read the Bible for that and have weekly Bible studies. Now that is the only thing that helps my mind. I used to get panic attacks so bad. I got one in an airplane and had to stay in the bathroom sweating and running in place. That plane took forever to land. I seriously wanted to jump out. We will finish this and everything will be fine. Blessings and love to you from Josana
