Acid reflux maybe

I’ve been having stomach pains with sickness when I move about I was put on omeprazole. How long does it take to work

I did see a difference fairly quickly, hope it works well for your stomach/sickness. I normally take mine a certain time of day (for me is morning)..

Thank you , it’s been 10 days , the dr said 11. The sickness has receded a little bit my tummy still aches . a lot of people said 3 days was all they needed so was just wondering

Have you had any investigations?

For example a Barium Swallow xray and/or an Abdominal Ultrasound scan? Tricky at the moment, I realise.

Are your bowels functioning well?

Do you drink plenty of water?

If you have any concerns ring your doctors surgery Tuesday for a piece of mind, they might be able to offer you a call back.

Normally the omeprazole works fairly quickly, and neutralizes acid reflux within a couple of days, if you are still getting stomach pains perhaps a visit back to the doctor is a better option just to be on the safe side,maybe they will try a different medication.

I have a hiatus hernia and when mine was bad I was vomiting up acid..I had to take mine on a morning and night to start off with as when I used to bed down picking things up or gardening it used to make me start burping or feeling sick..after a couple of years I have been able to cut back a bit I only take it during day if I get those symptoms back or my ibs Is chronic also...on an evening when I lay down it would play up and by morning the glands under my ears would hurt and would feel like earache.. that's where the evening one helped.i take an hour before bed and it helps it to ease through the night. The trouble is with acid reflux the Dr. Recommended sleeping on higher pillows propped up or something binder mattress at an angle..with having fibromyalgia I have to be careful with this as it can cause chronic stiffness in my neck...so I have to vary how I sleep..
