healthunlocked.com/fibromya... Hello there, I have read with interest many members suffering with reflux but not too sure if any connection to fibro ? I did start having bad reflux so good to get it checked as mine turned out to be a hiatas hernia, quite common I’m told and seems to be people over a certain age , just have to watch what I eat and drink , I hope you find out soon why it’s being caused, if you want to lock your further posts there is a link above ,that way only our community can see and not open to any other site engines on the internet, let us know how you get on .

Hi and a warm welcome to our community. Here you will find information support friendship and laughter too. You can find general information on fibromyalgia at our main website fmauk.org

IBS symptoms including reflux are common symptoms for people with fibromyalgia. I have medication to help mine, but also drink herbal teas that are good for the digestion and try to avoid foods that I know will trigger it xxx

Hi , thanks for your reply ...it helps knowing that other fibro sufferers get reflux , started a good diary to see if there’s a trigger but think it my be fibro stress related .

Hi - I too still have occasional reflux, usually due to having eaten certain foods. My acupressurist has guessed that the connection with fibro is that in both it's the muscles, but ...

I used to have really bad reflux, even more so when I started on Medications for Fibro and Spondylitis.

I take Omeprazole and have never had any reflux since.

Could be any medication you are taking?

Thanks for your reply , I have been through all medications trying to find a source but alas nothing , I take the same omeprazole plus good old gaviscon ! Maybe be the fibro stress brings it on some days worse than others .

I've had reflux since I was a kid and my main medicine for it (ranitidine has been recalled now for months) so I am stuck with just sozol.

Oh yeah! No medication works for me. Change of diet. Even with that, it still gives me trouble. After eliminating all Gerd inducing foods, you eat tiny meals more regularly. But I keep a bottle of gaviscon. The only thing without side effects for me.

Thanks for your help I too keep a huge bottle of gaviscon on hand , do you have fibromyalgia as well ?

Oh yeah, Ador. I've had it since childhood. I had mild muscle pain as a child, but after puberty other symptoms kicked in. Then I had a child and more were unleashed. Moving from Africa to Britain also unlocked other symptoms as my body failed to deal with changing seasons. In 2007 I was diagnosed. Then I had a hysterectomy and oh my God. Apart from Spring and Autumn giving me flairs, conflict with people are worse at making me flair up. I have cut such people out of my life. No social media either except this platform.

Hello. I've had fibromyalgia for years and I was also getting very bad reflux. A few years ago my Dr put me on 20 mg of Omeprazole every morning before food, and it's amazing. My mum also takes it and says the same.
