Hi electricjaws ,Lil!! You made me laugh!! I live in the US and dont even have to deal with them but Ive got because of my FM friends have to deal with.It keeps my head spinning!! Take care hope it gets better.Peck π€
Well was on the wheel until some no good rat of a rheumatologist thought I was a lemming and pushed me off the cliff - as in his words "we don't treat fibro here, discharging you back to GP"
Oh yes I have hamsteritis and was for a year 2014/15 a guinea pig. Hamsteritis makes you giddy and frustrated and then you get cynical and mistrusting (well I have) and then the danger of biting the hand that is supposed to help you. xx
At least the doctor will actually have to look at me and not the oh so interesting computer screen he stares at before telling me to lose weight and I'll feel better. I think the "hamster flick" would be an improvement. In fact I think I'd get quite a lot of satisfaction from the bite too.x
Sadly it's becoming a very familiar story for lots of conditions, not just us fibro folk. I have two friends who are waiting for operations, one for a hernia op, the other for a prolapsed bowel operation. They have both been back and forth for at least three pre-op assessments each, but still no closer to having the operations they need. This has been going on since last summer for one lady, last spring for the other! Both are totally fed up and frustrated at the system.
Oh my! Another thing to add to the list! Likely if the diagnosis catches on it, will be considered both ideopathic and untreatable to boot! Shame! Probly some nice anti depressants will take the edge of caring about it til a cure is found.
I've been noticing how many of us Fibros have also developed chronic Whingeitus, likely brought on by having GP's that never b----y listen! Left untreated, Whingitus can leave the sufferer with a permanant speech defect charactorised by an irritating whiney sound, often a full octave higher, than before. The only treatment I've found useful is ear plugs!
Would you like to pull on a less contentious string next time? Or just post a picture of a cute fluffy creature? Pah! Doctors. Probly not their fault but living with no answers is darn tough.
Hamsteritis indeed! My family will just love that one!!
