It’s been playing on my mind all night I read a post about a lady complaining about not being able to buy bananas singly at Aldi now pls don’t complain about this.
We need to look at this different.
You are able to go out
There is food to buy
You are alive
Companies are capping
You are not in hospital and I hope don’t have too
Please try not to moan over a few pence
I’m currently in isolation with a 2 an 9 year old and like everyone else fibro is bad. I’d love to be able to go shopping.
Let’s just try and be positive or it will drive us mad.

Exactly , I am getting fed up of the negativity, people so selfish, I think it’s really brought home now what we can take for granted. I hope you have family /friend that can drop parcel at the door for you, we need to look out for each other now , xxxxxx
Yes I do thank you for asking. You’ve hit the nail on the head. It’s just the little things not being able to see Mum on Mother’s Day but it’s only a day and we can make our own even more special xxxx
Your so right, everything we take for granted on a daily basis (and we don’t mean too) has given us a wake up call, I think the lovely members who struggle on a daily basis here seem to have allot more empathy. Xxx
Hi,it's easy to jump to conclusions about what is going on in the lives of others. I know what it is like to plan shopping and meals down to the last penny. So, being able to buy bananas singly can take away a lot of stress. I wish you and the annoying shopper well.
Yeah I know, I've just been shopping and yes there's empty shelves of meat and tins etc but even though there's no beans, there was curry and chillie beans lol I like them flavours, they didn't have much fresh meat left, but I got a gammon and bacon that last a month, there is food at shops, maybe not all the food people are used too but think about other meals to cook,
I bought sweetcorn and mushy peas that I don't normally buy and along with the gammon and chips that's a meal for me and my son
I found cat litter too the biggest one I've ever bought,
I'm happy with my shop,
so no you can only buy one banana but youre lucky to buy one, you're lucky you can afford or even find fresh fruit unlike some parts of the world
You watch people not waste food like they did up to last week, this crisses will change alot of people's way of thinking
If you have a roof over your head and a cracker to eat, you're in a kingdom compared to some. Be selfless not selfish, that's what some people don't understand. Loved your post. 👍👍👍
Just looking from another point of view but being on a very tight budget as a lot of people are now can mean buying a single banana means fruit in your diet, if they are only sold in bags of so many, no fruit. Also being single as so many of us are now means fruit goes off before you can eat it if you cant buy one or two, which is a waste and impacts on the environment. Supermarkets should stock for all, not just for families. Multi packs seem to be the norm these days.
She didn’t want one or 2 hence what I was saying. They wouldn’t let her buy more than 4 single . Now where I live 5 is a bunch and I’m on a tight budget but to moan about that is absolutely ridiculous at this time when people are dying. I’m trying to keep things positive of moaning about flipping bananas .
When I read your initial post, I took it to read the same way Shazzy did and I think this is why there are conflicting replies... I totally agree with what you meant the only thing I worried about was the likes of my son, his wife and 6 children and the restrictions regarding shopping. My son works full time and of course my daughter in law couldn't leave the house due to shielding as she has her own health problems!
Even Online shopping has been a nightmare for them, trying to get slots and when they do, 85 items might sound a lot but it's not when everything is singularised. Eg Milk they would go through at least 5 jugs in a week so that's 5 items off their shopping allowance, only being allowed 4 bananas was a nightmare as all of their children love fruit more so than sweet stuff. You get the gist of what I'm saying and you can only do an online shop once a week.
I do think the government needs to rethink how larger families can cope through these lockdowns what with everything else they have to go through...
I get your point but I don’t think the government can deal with every individual case and 6 children is a lot, I couldn’t cope. But we just have to be more imaginative, my boys are lactose intolerant which are caped (quite rightly so) we’ve just done different things. I hope she’s getting help from family and friends dropping things off xxx
Well said if anyone moans around me I tell them, be thankful you are still here, stop moaning and get on with it. I am a 69 year old with other health problems beside fibromyalgia and I wake up every morning thankful that I am well. I look for simple things that make me smile, I have squirrels in the tree that make me laugh at their antics and I look for a different flower every day. I knit and colour and have started writing letters to my friends and family on pretty notepaper, I am alive and making the most of it, my message to everybody is enjoy life because you have it, so many poor souls haven't . Keep safe and well xx
