Night sweats but freezing ☃⛄️🌨❄️
Thank you, I’m not alone. I have to sleep with windows open and the quilt is on and off all night long.🥶🥵
Its awful every single night x
Ah, this sounds familiar. It’s worse when I’m in a flare - to the point that I have to change my PJs in the night.
Window open and electric blanket with easily adjustable heat settings are what I use, Also have a fan on sometimes x
Hi babe well I'm not alone then I just hate them xxxxx
Great tip I will try eat earlier it's awful these sweats x
Takes quite a long while but yes. Phew! It can feel very long!! Do you get that awful freezing shivery bit (feeling unwell with it even) then Poof, it's boiling and you are going to expire (very intense for anyone not yet there yet!) and then grr! freezing again? Fraid your thermostat is on the blink. As you have figured. This time, it really is your age dear!!
Over time it settles and you get used to it. Your thermostat is never going to be like it was sadly. Depends if you have the patience and grit to wait it out. And what other GRRRRR!? Symptoms you have. Some people say they feel so much better in all sorts of ways. Aches etc. When they finally give in to HRT. It is a very individual decision. Maybe worth a chat with your understanding GP? Although with the virus going round, I'd say maybe put it off till after it's blown over?
The issue with this for fibros, is how much your sleep is disturbed. Your body will wake you up in distress so you can fix the heat issue. Multiple times will be exhausting and beware for how poor sleep winds your Fibro. If you are waking up soaking and having to change your PJ's or sheets, that is really disturbing. Though the sweat is your safety valve that tries to cool you. If you struggle to sweat, the heat build up is more intense and uncomfortable as the heat has no-where to go.
Probly worth a google. There is lots to be aware of during this hot and sweaty stage of life.
Thank you xxxx
I have just come across your post ... am on the thyroid forum normally as just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism TSH at 12 atm. I had similar symptoms. Hot flushes waking me all night, followed by intense freezing , really deep within my body. I had also started to get swollen fingers ... I put it all down to menopause but infact I was hypo and menopausal. It all made sense. as have lots of other symptoms which I put down to aging. So maybe get TSH checked too ... Gone on HRT and flashes gone. what a relief with proper sleep. Was very anti at first. And I am on médication for hypothyroidism and will see how it goes as early days. I was initially shocked cos I weigh less than 9 stone, so never would I have thought I'd have an underactive thyroid. Don't know if my personal experience is of any help.
It is interesting. I have had Thyroid checks as per GP many times. All normal, no low normals. Do we need more detailed? I don't know. Lots of folks seem to get better on Thyroid meds esp Armour Thyroid? It was one Meddle too far for me on my own and I couldn't find someone I trusted to take me through Alt testing.
Always pleased to hear folks getting better and finding their way out of the marrass that is the fibro muddle.
make sure they check you regularly. The tests are pretty accurate. But as far as I can understand there is quite a high corrélation between auto immune disease and hypothyroidism ... eg. hashimoto, RA ...
Dear Lauren, I do not know how old you are, but could you be starting to go through "the change?" Just a thought. Otherwise, I think it could be the awful temperature change that one can get with fibromyalgia. Love Roselil
It’s a horrible feeling isn’t it once that cold air hits the sweat it’s horrible, I try to wear pyjamas instead of nighties as then the sweat is soaked up rather than having sweaty legs entangled in the bed sheets lol
Ha ha I will have to try that xxx
Hi Lauren its horrid the sweating I get it all day as well, as soon as I put a coat on heat builds up, have to take my coat off and then feel cold, so on it goes again. and worse in certain situations in day, if I try to go to fast, to get things done. x
We differently need a thermostat control , yes either too hot or a shivery cold as if you are going down with something 🤣one of the joy s and symtoms of our fibro xx
Thanks Hun um glad u can relate it's awful x
Night sweats can be low B12
Low B12 very common
Ask GP to test B12 and folate, and vitamin D and this often low too if B vitamins are low

Test vitamin D here
