So sorry, Lauren, but they sound like typical Fibro symptoms, which happen to me at times, but you should also check to be assured. Will now pray for you. Hope they will subside and you can get a better night's sleep. Love Roselil

Thanks roselil xxx

If ecg and other tests have come back normal I would say that they are fibro symptoms lack of sleep and worrying often make the pain worse! Good luck for your appointment on Tuesday xx

Are the pains like electric shocks? If so, then it sounds like nerve pain.

I too developed chest pains and was very worried. ECG was normal and it has been put down to fibromyalgia. I still worry it is something else but worry doesn't help at all. This is such a weird condition..does anyone...anywhere understand this ..Let us know what Rhematologist think..take care I totally understand x

Hi lauren1987. Sounds like costochondritis which j have. Not life threatening but life changing. I find heat pads hot water bottle etc helps but my saviour is chicken sternum cartlidge/collagen. Made a huge difference to me.

Hi its inflammation in the cartlidge which joins your ribs to your sternum. Feels like your having a heart attack at first till you get the all clear on that front. My pain is front and back ribs but also I've got awful pains between my shoulder blades which my doc says is prob fibro but ive got my doubts. Ive been bad since last August. Lost my job through it. Had to cancel our dream cruise too. (just as well cos it was to China).!!

I couldn't even get out of bed at one point. Begged my doc to give me prednisone but they refused point blank. Said they don't give them out like sweets?! Bearing in mind im 68 and rarely seen my drs. . I knew it would get me on my feet as I have seen it first hand. Well I got some low dose off a friend and guess what I was able to exercise after four days. Unfortunately ive run out so we'll see.

Anyway back to my point. Last year I started using the chicken sternum cartlidge. Took about a month to kick in. Now the rib pain is 80% better. Still got the back muscle pain but I'm seeing a rheumatologist soon so see what they say.

I say give things a try and give it time. My brother had this for two years straight and never used the c.s.cartlidge now he wishes he had.

I hope you have success and feel better soon.

I really feel for you being so young. I don't think I could have coped. I'm an old bird now but had a full life. Was in the gym one day then into work on my feet 6 hours then suddenly this. I was exactly like you I got so down and when the doc asked if I was having mental problems I blew my stack. Implying it was in my mind. I was down cos my life had changed overnight and they weren't doing a thing to help me.

My minds as clear as it was at 21 its my body that was shutting down. I feel we have to help ourselves and each other.

I spend a lot on vitamins and good diet but the c.s.cart was most beneficial and the plus is my nails are like diamonds. Lol. The other thing I use is CBD oil full spectrum for sleep. Works wonders.

Good wishes.

Maybe google Costochondritis as it sounds similar to that. I used to take steroids for it but then my Rheumatologist put me on Joncia and I haven't had it since. I'm in Australia and understand you can't get that there unfortunately. But maybe a short course of steroids to see if they help. Good luck.
