It's nearly 2020 and I'm finding myself down in the dumps thinking about new years resolutions. It's been on my mind a while.... I need to loose weight, the strain on my body is too much, its falling apart! But equally I've been trying to do this for sooo long, I feel hopeless.
I work full time, I'm signed up to a gym that I've not been too for some time. I just have no enegery to go, my days off I want to chill, as well as housework etc. I don't eat the best purely because prepping meals is also hard when I feel tired. I've tried slimming world and weight watchers, not really for me.
I know how much I want it but people keep telling me I have to be in the right frame of mind... My body can't hold my weight anymore its ruining me.
Any advice or little strategies that anyone can suggest that might help me? I'm out of ideas

Dont make any resolutions then you wont brake them
I have tried SW twice lost weight and then put it back on look at BHF healthy eating I have lost 1st 9ib since end of May despite being on meds and having illness that make it hard to lose weight .
I batch cook and the rest of family eat the same .
Have you tried joining a local group? It's about finding someone who gets the issues you have. I found someone who runs a local group for my age. I cant get to group classes because of work. But he puts workouts on Facebook, and emails every day. He is a trained nutritionist. It costs about £45 a month. It works for me. I'm not one for gyms.
A few years ago i tried the cabbage soup diet. Took a few months but i just had the soup when i felt hungry instead of snacking . Also provided the 5 a day & really helped my IBS. I used the prepared veg in the supermarket so less work but i only made it every few days. Kept it in the fridge overnight .
Now always have some home made veg soup on the stove. I've ditched the cabbage cos it dont really like it but i do like tomatoes carrots celery sweet potatoes onion & garlic. Then add anything you want to give it some protein. I add tins of butter, kidney, cannelini beans for protein. Or add prawns or fish. Some fake meatballs . Some chicken if you need meat.
This time of year is a difficult time to start a drastic diet coz your body craves food because its cold so be kind to yourself & make soup lentil - chicken - find what suits you & your body will rhank you for it
Its very difficult to get everything done, especially when your struggling with health, please try to be kind to yourself, the more pressure you put on yourself, the more stressed you will feel, then it all spirals out of control, you start craving sugary or fatty foods etc
I think you need to make some time every day just for you to do something you want to do - just for fun, helps take the pressure down and then do things that Improve your health,, lots of little changes do add up and before you know it, you are well enough to go to the gym 😀
Take care and be kind to yourself, would you give a friend such a hard time for being overweight
I am a very confident happy in myself, I just always have this in the back of my mind. Like I want to go and spend the day shopping say, I hurt so much by the end of the day and I'm so sure that my weight puts the stress on to my joints. I see people much larger than me living an easier life, able to move freely and not be uncomfortable in every home of their body, just makes me feel rubbish.
But most of the time I'm sassy and confident and the pressures not on most of the time it's just near year resolution time isn't it.
I'm in a similar boat to you,my body is so tired I'm on borrowed time,my poor feet put up with a lot.Its the motivation with me and a catch 22 when ur tired u havent the energy but there are small changes you can make,so start small I say,as for eating well I'm seeing my brother every Monday as we are free and we batch cook a couple of dishes, its good as it saves money, we know exactly what's went it plus as I'm alone its unlikely I'd be making six portions of the same thing just for me,we motivate each other there:)Different exercise works for different people, personally a gym isint going to work for me so I prefer purpose exercise, two birds with one stone, housework with music on and even tho it takes me much longer than it used to ive done my bit,I enjoy diy so thats all good too,I changed my loo seat and the metal had went funny so it took me two hours on and off to do it,that was my work out that day :)I wish you lots of positive thoughts and small changes first dont beat yourself up about it xx
