Hi everyone thought I would do a catch up blog. Have started back at college, emotionally it was fine but physically was very hard. I am guessing my body has got used to not being there. But I got on with it and coped and actually enjoyed being back there with all my new friends. That's the first time I've felt glad to be there instead of very afraid. I am really struggling with the stairs still,it's an achievement just getting up them. I've put on a stone in weight and boy am I feeling it. I'm back at slimming world so am going to try and get it off,it's shocking how quick it can go on. Takes so much longer to get it off. I will get there.

I've done something pretty major for me after eight years being divorced from my ex I'm now in the process of changing back to my maiden name, there's so much to change!! I've not done it before mainly because my kids were still young and I wanted to have the surname as them but now they are older they are both fine with me changing back. Just feels very strange but also feels right at this point in my life. I'm also very glad not to have to drag his name round with me I am starting to feel much more free.

Anyway I hope the snow isn't too bad for those of you who have it,we just had horrid rain here in the south west,it's yuck! My kids are gutted we aren't due to have any snow lol.xxx

Glad things are going better for you now - hope that the weight loss goes well, too! I'm joining you in that battle, but haven't the nerve to join a slimming club, so given my OH the permission to lightly poke me in my multiple chins if I reach for the choccies! Good luck! xx

Hi Teddysmum

lovely to hear from you!

i hope you feeling proud of your self making the step to go back to college and it not being such a hurdle to get there and as for the stairs, yes can be hard work, but at same time every step is another step to achieving something else.

I take it there are no lifts?

Your weight gain will soon fade as you carry on as those steps will help and the weight watchers too and the meals if you have them (not that your pic looks like you need it)!!

i too have put on weight due to Lyrica a stone and half boo.

doing a little at a time and not over doing it as you will end up sat down longer than you anticipated, so doing little and sitting will help.

It is difficult for weight loss in our condition as you know there are certain things we can do if we have the motivation or want to do it. sometimes it just depends on each individual and dependant on meds taking and what you have, it is always best to ask GP if what you do is good for you.

As for your divorce you have come a very long way and am very very sure your lovely children are so proud of mummy anyway and if it feels rite for you to do it now then go ahead dont let anything stop you , you may even feel the change too as that little cut off with the name can make a difference.

if you are really wanting childrens names changing it can be done by deephole (maybe spelt a little wrong hehehe) but with your ex consent if under age then it is possible.

you really are in to the next gear for 2013 well done you!!

hmm snow! snow ! well a little here and a little there wow it does cause some hiccups on the roads here i am so glad i have a 4x4 its old like me 43! well the cars not that old haah but it seems to get me a-b thats the main thing.

i dont mind snow in the respect that my dog can go out as much as she wants and come back in with invisible foot prints its cool that way.

we are in Leeds, so middle of the uk in my eyes half and half for weather haha..

well huggles and best wishes and do not do too much and keep us posted and i think you have me to chat to anyway ;-) so please feel free to keep me posted on how college is doing etc and what are you doing at college what have you chosen???? xxxx

Hello TM, so good to see you back with us!

You sound like you are coping very well with being back at college, so well done! A good start to the New Year! Happy New Year to you! :)

Regarding changing your name, I can understand how cathartic that can be for you, a new start, a new you and new name! Sometimes this can be all it takes for us to move on and to look to the future with renewed hope, so well done there too! Very positive steps being made by our TM this year already! :)

We haven't had any snow on the South Coast yet just a flurry or two. It's more than cold enough to snow and the weather experts reckon we could get some tomorrow.

Keep up the good work TM, we are with you all the way!

Thank guys.Fairy I went back to college in September to study counselling. The first term was pretty traumatic to say the least. Wasn't sure I was going to go back but I decided I would as I realised it was really helping me even thou it didn't feel like it at the time. I was a lot calmer on saturday which was a relief,I am hoping I'm through the worst of it. I've actually been reading a book about how other counselling trainees have coped with the training so I can understand what I've been going through a bit better.

Hi TM,

I too have reverted back to my maiden name, but my bank are playing silly budgies with me as I don't have photo ID.

I'm going to take in my birth certificate, along with all the utility bills and my DWP stuff so they can check my N.I. number against the one on the payin records.

I am particularly annoyed that they are giving me the run around as my son also changed his name at the same time, and they had no problem changing his bank account.

Cheers, Midori

It can be a nuisance Midori, I do sympathise. The bank's have to be so careful these days with so many cases of identity theft and fraud etc. I changed my name back to my maiden name when I was divorced as did my children, but thankfully that was years ago and the system was a lot easier then. I found it hard enough when I remarried to change my name, the system is not easy these days. :)

That's so daft Midori! I must get my national insurance changed too. My bank wanted to see the decree absoloute and that was that!

in reply toTeddysmum43

It seems to vary TM these days, some banks seem stricter for some reason. xxx

I underst\nd why they are doing it, it's just daft that they will accept payments into my account with my maiden name, but won't allow me to change it. I would hardly be changing from a fairly common surname to one which is so unusual that there are less than a dozen of us in the country, and all related to me if I were trying to be dishonest, but they don't seem able to see that. Never mind, I'll get there eventually.

Cheers, Midori
