Has anyone else noticed extra pain when wearing a pair of DM's?
I have recently brought a pair that are fur lined for the winter and I seem to be experiencing more back pain. My fibro pain is wide spread but worse in my lower back. My feet also feel heavy when I wear them. I love them so I don't want it to be the cause of this extra pain. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you.

Yep , they are quite heavy , I'm reduced to super soft lightweght footwear , UGG type , only thing I can wear even during this summer .... U could cycle lol xxx
I would not advise Ugg for fibro nor D.M not good for our conditions, Ugg make me curl up my toes hence ended up with hammer toes, D.M are like picking up lead weights on the end of your legs.this causes back pain as you alter your posture ..Lots of good brands like Scholl or "k" shoes that make fashionable boots.

Oh no ! I was thinking of treating myself to a pair of funky dms for Christmas.....never thought of their weight... thanks for posting this, might well be saving me a fortune. Sorry though for yourself. This condition has a lot to answer for!!!
I haven't got Doc Martin's but I had to send a pair of boots I bought last year that were thicker therefore heavier than what I would normally wear to the charity shop as I experienced so much pain in my legs and back when I wore them. I bought them as my feet always seem cold and I thought the thicker sole, fur lining etc would help. Had to go back to my normal pair and wear a couple of layers of socks.x
DMs far too heavy for me. Nowadays it's either Hotter shoes or Ariat (if I can ever afford the latter!)
And what about , clothing ....same , bras, pants everything jersey 🙄

Ghosh Iv got enough bras to start my own shop- always try before you buy, Ive had to resort to ugly bras BUT Pour Moi are lovely fit and stylish for all ages.
Skechers for me & Heavenly Feet. HF might be worth a try I'm sure I saw DM look on their site and all the boots I have are lightweight, great sole, memory foam insole (removable for orthotics) and best of all everything is vegan friendly
I’ve been wearing DMs forever and I need the ankle support but I’ve noticed lately that I seem to pick my Fly boots more now. This may be a problem as at the last count I had over 20 pairs of DMs🤫x
I agree with you, Ugg and D.M are not good for anyone who has any form of arthritis or fibro, try selling them on ebay and look for some K shoes fur lines boots or Scholl, both made for people with posture needs.
I like Vionic footwear, (have some trainers that are so comfy I end up dressing from my feet up) light with good arch support. Have some Romika ankle boots that are light too
I find the adult dms a bit heavy but if you're a size 5.5 or smaller, then the youth fit are lighter, more flexible and have a zip, cheaper too x
Doc Martens are total Crap they farmed it all out to China few years back then sold company to one of these Asset Stripper/Get rich quick venture capitalist company
Gears Shocking falls apart.not made correctly.other in pair don't match
Hi, I have terrible pain in my feet, ankles and lower leg so now all of my glam footwear is either UGG or EMU. I bought some like flip flop slippers for summer they were great and not difficult to wear. What a blessing!!
Never tried DM but they look heavy?
Good luck x
DM's have totally changed, once upon a time they were great. Mine meant everything to me, and saw me through hundreds of miles.
Today I saw an advert for some Swiss shoe with a new soft cushioned moulding sole. But they want £20 for you to try them. Actual price is around £200.
They sound interesting but its unreasonable to charge people to try on shoes.
Saw a podiatrist last week, as I can no longer bear the pain of most shoes and walking. He gave me insoles, lovely and cushioned but without arch support, so still in agony.
My search for shoes continues, my needs are so many and varied I'm thinking of designing and making my own.
I 'flirted a little' with plantar fasciitis a couple of years or so ago. Some months later I took to wearing Crocs for most things, and to be honest things ... well the feet are a lot better.
I still get the occasional plantar 'flare up', but I would recommend the crocs to people with 'foot issues' anytime.
I would just say the 'real mccoy' are the ones you need. The 'croc wannabe's' are for sure a lot cheaper, however they are nowhere near as pliable, nor 'spongy' as the real thing.
