hi and a warm welcome to our community. Here you will find information, support, friendship and laughterj too. You will find general information on fibromyalgia at our website fmauk.org

good luck with your pip assessment - i've not had experience of telephone assessments myself; but i would imagine that they will be asking you questions based on the criteria in the form; in the same way as a face to face

There is a post on this site somewhere that includes a link to pip assessments, including how they score points. It was very, very useful advice. I cant remember who it was, sorry but I'd just search fibro and pip then stumbled across it. Sorry I cant be more specific.

Edit- it was by releasethemagic user, over a year ago.

Thankyou.

I had a telephone assessment recently, I too was very nervous beforehand but to be honest I didn't find it as bad as the face 2 face ones I've had in the past. It was 4 weeks after the phone call before I got my decision, I was awarded highest for care and mobility. Just be mindful that it could be a long phonecall. Mine was 8am and lasted 1 hour 15 mins

Just be honest and you'll be fine. Honest answers flow. The assessors are health professionals, doctors, nurses, paramedics and physios, so have medical knowledge as well as pharmaceutical knowledge and will contact the doctors and specialist caring for you if they need more information.

Contrary to Facebook belief, they just make honest assessments from facts they can verify.

It's a telephone conversation, and the woman who did mine was really nice and spent time checking on my wellbeing in lock down. So much easier than I expected and the outcome was good.

So try to relax and think of it like talking to a nurse. Good luck x
