Hi Shai123 ,
You need to go to your GP and explain about the pain you're in. Write out a list if you think you might forget something. They may want to do some x-rays or scans if it has been a while since you've had any done.
There are different meds they can try you with for both your fibro and arthritis. xx
Thankyou had mri on leg waiting results as couldn’t bend knee propally so much pain in crutches weakness on pregablin slow release tramodol naproxen have ibs and under active thyroids I’m so down with it all feel gp don’t really understand just feel like give meds that’s it
Having an understanding GP is so important. Is there another GP you could see in the surgery? If not, I would seriously think about changing GP's. I'm sorry you're feeling so down with everything. (((Hugs))) xx
Thankyou so much I was thinking of doing that as my gp you just see different doctors all the time how are you coping x
I completely understand and feel for you.
My advice is simple...ask your GP to urgently refer you to a Pain Management specialist. The consultant will assess your pain levels and needs and will suggest the appropriate meds and approach to best assist you. One of the main questions is 'How well are you sleeping?' Good sleep helps you cope with the pain.
I also suffer from Fibromyalgia and have Spinal Stenosis from L3 - L5 with osteoarthritis in my spine and hips - I won't even bother to mention my other health conditions as they're not relevant to your post.
After years (5+) of taking oral pain meds (doctor prescribed), I have developed a painful gastroenterology problem - stomach lining, for which I'm currently receiving treatment. If my response helps you and others avoid this added pain, I will be very pleased.
Just to end by saying that I'm now on pain patches - which appear to be helping to take the edge off the pain. I also considered suppositories and have had targeted pain injections in the past (they're like mini epidurals) with short term benefits. I also do Tai Chi, steam room/acupuncture or jacuzzi sessions and take CBD edibles (which I told the consultant about) and that also appears to help with sleep.
Don't expect a quick fix. It's all little trial and error and different things work for different people.
Wishing you all the best going forward. It's natural to feel down in your situation. Please try to find ways to lift your mood even if it makes you appear a little selfish.

Hi I get exactly where you are explaining spine pain.
Various strong pain meds but doing a small change at moment so listing would take forever.
Epsom flakes in bath or a foot soak helps pain and sleep
Magnesium oil and most recently Hemp patches and hemp gel has been my life line .Hope you find some relief from your pain.Xx
