I may have Fibro...

The pain clinic at my local hospital have said they think I may have fibromyalgia with centralised sensitisation. I certainly have pains in my arms and legs and shoulders. I have trouble walking. Chronic anxiety attacks. Lately I have had a tightness at the top of my abdomen that makes it feel like I can't breath when I'm stood up. I just needed to get that out there. My neuro appt is not till August. I have also had a B12 deficiency. I feel like I am falling apart..

Hi Hercules 1969, sorry to hear of all your symptoms but they do sound very similar to those that kicked off my own journey to get diagnosed. I have chronic depression, fibromyalgia, arthritis in my spine and joints and centralised sensitisation made worse by anxiety for which I take propanalol which really helps me. I have been diagnosed with Vitamin D3 deficiency, which makes the bone and joint pain much worse so I’m on high dose supplements which really helps. Pregabalin reduces the muscle spasms, and, along with pain killers, have got my spine, hip, pelvis, knee, heel and foot pain reduced, enabling me to walk. I now get more quality sleep and can exercise at last which has slowly helped to increase my stamina. Whilst trying to balance everything it’s easy to overdo it so pacing is the key it’s hard but I’m learning!

Please keep on keeping on! And keep reading the posts as sometimes they resonate and can help in ways you hadn’t thought of - several minds and different approaches are always better than one especially when it gets too much at 3am and you feel like no one else gets it.......there’s always someone here to help even if just by listening :).

Things can improve so don’t panic because you’re not alone! X

Thank you so very much for that. I have short leg tendons from birth and there are some notes on my record that mention I have mild CP which no doctor has spoken to me about ever. It feels like I have walked 20 miles and lifted weights when I haven't. The abdomen thing has thrown me though.

Hei I can tell you about my experience. I had terrible pain in my arms and legs sometimes my had felt like stuck. Had anxiety all the time and like 6 panic attacks everyday. I felt exhausted and sleepy. My doctor run all the blood tests thinking the cause could be problems with my thyroid or Ms because I have much 0robkems with my eyes. Well the ms doesn't detects due the blood tests but due neurological tests. Well at the final it resulted just a big lack of D vitamn. Still not in my best but getting better. So is important to check all the possibilities. Hope you are feeling better.

Cheers kiddo. I hope you are on the road to better. I am OK for D. I was B12 deficient and may still be but my doctors keep moving the goalposts on that score. They messed me about badly today. They have promised to get me an earlier neuro appt though. If they don't I am going to another doctor.
