If your on pip at high rate and you received the warm home discount you can get £140 one of payment you’ve got up to March to claim it if your on pension credit guaranteed tee the weather has got to stay under freezing for 7days in a row you get one of payment £25.00 but it must be at seven degrees below freezing I’d phone dwp and ask if you qualify if you think you do you have got to phone to claim it it’s down t what benefit you claim ask anyway you can’t lose anything by tryig

Hi Rose54.
I am on contribution rate ESA and get it on a low income basis.
Sorry forgot to say we don't get any income basis benifits at all.
We are both on contribution rated esa nothing else.
But apparently it puts us below the income threshold, we also get full help with hc2 firm which we didn't know till last year, know one tells you.
Hi
Are you talking about the Warm Home Discount which is £140 a year or the Payment that's made when temperature falls below a certain amount for several day .
The £140 a year 😘 Never thought of cold weather payments.
Wish we could get the could get it as with anyone who had been or is being treated for cancer we need to keep very warm.
Our bill this time will be around the £500 mark 🤦♀️.
I have already had a touch of flue then a bad cold since Christmas.
Had heating on fire on dressing gown and blanket on 🤣🤣 never felt so cold at times.
That makes sense now
Have you tried shopping around for a cheaper tariff for electric ?
Hi you can only get the £140 payment if you are with a provider that does it, most of then little provides don't.
Scottish power does that's all I know.
We get it on low income basic.
So glad your provider has the scheme you don't have to be a pensioner to get it.
We are 63/64 and we get the £140
I also get the warm home help of £140 and I had to apply for it last September and it’s just shown on my bill in January.
