There are quite a few reasons for Low Iron and B12. Do you have copies of the results with ranges ? Always good to ask for copies so you can monitor your progress and check what has been missed ! They are legally yours. Some surgeries now have on-line access.

If your Iron level is below range then you should be given a transfusion and injections for B12. You also need Feritin - Folate and VitD tested as they are often low with low Iron and B12 due to what is possibly absorption issues. If low in range they can make you feel poorly. B12 over 500 - Folate & Ferritin mid-range snd VitD around 100. Docs happy if you are just in range but that won't get you well 😊

Have you had Hashimotos ruled out as that can be a cause of poor absorption in the gut.

I am not a Medic but someone who has had quite a health journey and have had to learn from others who know more than me !

Hi

I can take up to 8 tramadol daily along with other painkillers. Like most of the tablets it takes the edge off the pain without upsetting my stomach. Good luck.

Dear Smiler66 , I have very similar experiences. I was on painkillers tramadol and came off them due to constipation as it’s an endless battle pain or cramps . I’ve morphine slow release 20mg morning then night 50mg at night along with Amitriptyline 150mg this helps me with neurological pain , along with 300mg of pregabalin . This has helped me so much , everyone has to find the right medicine combination and it’s always worthwhile asking your GP to help you. BTW I take 3 vitamin B12 daily. My iron levels go haywire and the tiredness is awful.

Good luck

Hi. I am on tramadol I take 8 a day with other medication also . I still have breakthrough pain and I know how hard it is when your in pain and nothing is helping you . Two tramadol doesn’t sound a lot to me ,I would speak to your doctor and ask for something better than what you are on . I don’t have any problems with my vitamin b12 .
