Hi all ive just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia also have arthritis so didnt really want anything else been put on a trial of amitriptyline see if it helps not doing much at the min what do you all find helps i still have to work as im a single mum of 2 so want to continue as long as i can x

Hi. I'm on 25mg Amitriptiline a night. Works well for muscle relaxant, I normally get a good 8hrs sleep. On waking though it can take a couple of hours to become human. And keeps Fibro pain during some days to a bare minimum. Meaning I can go without more pills. Dr has given me carte blanche to take 2 pills a night if I have flare ups. By midday pain does start to kick in but still not worth taking painkillers I just rest for a few hrs.

Been on lots of other pills & found side effects were really bad for me, went completely off the planet on some.

Hope Amitriptiline works for you. Depending on the dose your GP may increase it.
