That might be a side effect of it, that happens to me so I don't take it regularly, only when I really have to. I've fallen over a few times after taking it 🤪 I try to take it before bed if I have to take it. I sleep better with it but if it's still in my system when I get up in the morning that's when I tend to lose my balance. As it's a nerve blocker it must be blocking the signals we do need as well as the pain signals we can do without!

Oh my goodness rach ,wee lady I used to work for was always falling over that's what she took, pensioners shouldn't risk it I'd say then.

Be alert to any other meds you take or any new ones you’re given. I’ve experienced the side effects to most but luckily only had the full blown allergic reaction ( swelling, itching, elevated heart rate, trouble breathing) to 2. And ALWAYS check your prescription. Despite a big red label on my medical notes a GP still wrote a prescription for a medication that had almost killed me.

I don't want to alarm anyone with the possibility of allergic reactions to meds but I think once you've had a reaction to one, it's possible to have a reaction to another as the ingredients often overlap but they go by different brand names.

You can check all ingredients online on the British National Formulary (BNF) website. I couldn't believe a GP I saw, who had a card folder in front of him with a huge red allergy sticker on it, with the name of the medication and he wrote me a prescription for it. Luckily I read the prescription, pointed to the red sticker, pointed to what he'd written and handed him back the prescription.

BTW on the BNF website you can report your reaction to the medication. They encourage patients to report reactions as it helps to make meds safer. It's often called the yellow card report

That's shocking. He might be negligent, did you report him?

in reply torach1402

No, it was about 20 years ago. I learned to always check any meds I was given though.
