How long after tribunal decision do you have to wait for PIP to start ?

I had my tribunal Thursday of last week and after an hour of speaking about how things were two years before having to wait a further 15 minutes I was awarded the standard care element . But no one has said how long it takes to sort out or what happens next ?

Are you a new claimant for PIP or were you in receipt of DLA before?

I was on DLA and moving to PIP when I failed the medical

So this will be counted as all part of same assessment.

You will get a letter from Clerk to the Court confirming your award. DWP will get the same. It all takes about 5-8 weeks to get your money

Your Pip should start immediately and you should get back payment from when you 1st applied.

Sorry Nelly1 DWP won't do that.

Law says if you are transiting from DLA to PIP it can not be paid for one month after your award. So you won't get it from date of application.

Decision letter they gave me at tribunal says it's backdated to May last year which takes it to when DLA ran out but didn't say how long I would have to wait for it to start lol x

I continued with DLA payments til they sorted paper work out...or went for coffee!

The law says though they can't pay you PIP for a 4 week period...don't ask!!

My decision came through 29th March and first PIP payment 21st June!!

Of course DLA was paid 2 weeks in advance and 2 weeks behind. PIP is paid 4 weeks in arrears.

Now I have forgotten the question!!
