Falling on stairs

over the past 4 years i have became more and more accident prone, I have had many falls over the past few years. I was only diagnosed with fibro a few months ago, I asked my doctor if he could put me in touch with the OTT, as I needed more rails put up. He said I don't need them, well guess what had a massive fall yesterday and was advised to see my GP for help. Huh!

can I go straight to the Occupational Therapist Team or does my doctor have to refer me, as I fear the next fall could kill me.

Hi there really sorry to hear of your recent fall, I would ring your surgery and say you have had another fall very quickly since seeing your doctor you have been advised to see him , as he knows your medical history say I would like a call back ASAP to get the referral process started. If there is a quicker way I hope any members can give advice , in the mean time take care

Hi

Contact your local council and ask for a OT Home Assessment

Your doctor can refer you to your Physio Falls Group, it's usually held in the Physio Gym. push for this, as I used to have some really crashing falls and the falls group and the OT really helped me.

Things have really move on for me guys TY. On the 24th of this month I am having some injections in my back to help with the spine and arthritis, then hopefully I will be in a better position to start swimming. Thanks guys just being able to talk to someone has made me feel better.
