I have hd cfs and fibro for 10 years. I saw a specialist last Nov who referred me to a pain management course, which I completed.
One of the things I m really confused about is Napoxen. They have said it does no good at all as it is an immflamatory .They have said fibro is not immflamatory but neurological.
I have stopped taking it as I do not want to be taking something that does not benefit me and may be causing me damage.
I have gone back on amtripytine as I was taking it too late and was drowsy in the mornings. It does help a bit I think unless the pain is unbearable.
I also take Duloxtine after suffering with nausea and light heads this was a real gods send to me.
I have a physical job and am exhausted and in chronic pain all of the time. I am 55 live on my own and have to work. 22 -24 hours Sometimes pacing is not an option for me and I do crash. This leads to anxiety about money etc.I feel like a hamster on a wheel and dont know how to change things.Any advice would be so appreciatex

I have been on Naproxen for a number of years now, and have found it very helpful for my pain, but I have a lot of other conditions besides Fibro, so it could well be helping with one of the other conditions. x
I used to take Naproxen and started getting kidney problems. Cut a long story short after having a kidney biopsy. i was told by a Nephrologist that he could not rule out Naproxen had further damaged my kidneys, Do you have regular blood tests when you use Naproxen for long periods
Hi Shezzie. I was prescribed Naproxen for migraines a few years ago. My gp told me to take it in the day for my fibro too and I find it helps. Only problem is it’s not good for your stomach so if you were to take it often you’d need a ppi too. It doesn’t cause any side affects for me. I’m also taking Amitriptyline at night but think my dose will need to be higher. 😀
