Sunburnt feeling

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone gets to the stage of crying with the soreness of fibro. My top part of my body including face, arms, neck and head feeling so uncomfortable. Didn't know if to mention to doc on Tuesday. Also since I went away and came back for a weekend last weekend, I have felt awfully low. Slept non stop the first two days I got back. Felt exhausted. Is this what is going to happen when I have a break or holiday away. Getting me down, now this soreness for the last couple of days. No strength and no energy. The easiest of task so exhausting. Thanks. X

Yes, have cried over the pain more than once. It just seems so relentless.

The sunburnt feeling --- make sure you are really well hydrated.

I went away for a few days a couple of weeks ago. Was supposed to be away 4 nights, came home after 3 and spent the next couple of days totally wiped out.

I thought the same, was it worth all the effort. But I was next to a beautiful beach, visited a couple of places I'd not seen before. And made it home ok so that was a plus !

Have you asked to have a blood test for B12, ferritin , folate and VitD levels? When my B12 was very low I had a bad burning sensation on my skin. It felt like a Chinese burn, if you know what that is?

I also have fibromyalgia, but after my B12 levels were boosted this burning sensation reduced.

Best wishes

It may be nothing, but it’s definitely worth getting it checked out.

Wishing you well.

That's a good idea for her. I take what's called a Super B compkex but I think it doesn't have enough B12. I do test low on D so take 40,000 units one day a week by pres. besides what's in my multi vit. I'm trying some iron tabs now, due to fatigue. My Dr. has suggested B12 shots once a month and if I can pair it with picking up the paper pres. for pain pills, that will be 2 stone hits with one throw. The office is on the other side of town, as is Dermatologist (I've had skin cancer removed surgically from side of nose...I think from sun from driving over the years)and neurologist for sleep apnea. Thankfully, blood test can be done at clinic on this side of town. I am lazy. M.A. from USA

If I am planning to go anywhere I have to pace myself the week before (like if i go to Wimbledon) rest up and conserve energy, very little chores (I always tell myself the roof wont blow off because ive not polished) I cannot sit in hot sun at all and aim for shade although the heat is good for fibro muscles-not at 20+degrees, I wonder if you have ever asked you gp to check you B12 levels and give you an injection - maybe plan for this a week before you go away it does give you some energy-- I also wonder if the sleeping for 2 days made you feel better or more fatigue? Are you still working?

More fatigued to be honest. I have picked up slightly in mood today. Going to see g.p. Hopefully tomorrow if I can get in to see who I want to see. Not worked for three years due to unstable personality disorder and bipolar. Really bad depression. Benefit stopped of enhanced e.s.a. Last November. Waiting to hear from the court as taking d.w.p. To court. Was diagnosed with fibro last year which obviously has made my health worse than ever, really depressed at times more than ever. They stopped my e.s.a. Enhanced. Disgusting. Can't deal with stress at all and getting stressed with not having any money to pay my way after paying my bit of rent and bill money to my mum. I get so low and feel useless. X

Hi there Mandy, I think we put so much mental energy it trying to be normal like everyone else when we go away and hold our selves together. That when we get home we know we can just let go and be ourselves again we are mentally drained.

It's not till we have to do something outside of our comfort zone do we realise just how exhausting it can be xx

I know how that feels...even an hour or 2 working outside, and not heavy work, made it difficult to move for 2 days. I get pain in my saddle area...my Dr. understands as she rides horses..and I can hardly walk. I don't have sunburn type skin feelings but certain fabrics do irritate easily, and my hands itch like crazy daily so that is kind of a sunburn feeling....the tingling and numbness. I have a pres. lotion, Mometasone Furoate, to use but it takes awhile to calm the itching. At night allergy tablets help to relax it but I don't want to be more sleepy during the day. I have to consiously relax as best I can and don't scratch. If I scratch on lower arm I get big blood splotches. My pharmacist doesn't think it's from a med. I take but may be a lack of certain vitamin that is in lettuce and zucchini.

Glad you had some enjoyment from your trip but it seems we have to pay for it every time....even if I get shopping done. Shopping for pleasure, like at the Mall, isn't something I do anymore....even going to library. Feeling like a lazy person isn't any fun either. Hope you are feeling better. M.A. from USA
