Having a down day

I was really excited as I was called for a second interview for a job which sounded really exciting. I hate my current job , my office is now like being in a cave and I spend most days staving off creditors.

I found out today that I did not get the job but they had difficulty choosing between the 2 candidates. No consolation ! Good but not quite good enough. It would have been so good for my fibro. Better working conditions, less stress and a shorter working day.

Feeling very sorry for myself now, hoping it was going to be a way out of here

So sorry rebelist. What an achievement to get to the final 2 but no consolation when it leaves you stuck in a job you want to escape from. I hope you get through the disappointment and find an even better job x

I am sorry you didn't get the job you wanted as I know what it's like being stuck in a job you hate. However sometimes you are not given what you want because something better is planned for you instead. So don't give up hope, I am sure there will be other opportunities for you. Take care and good luck. x

I know , everything happens for a reason ! Just don't know what that reason is yet !

I know, would help if we knew rather than having to wait for it to make itself known! Didn't mean to come across as glib there but I was in a similar situation myself couple of years ago. I was working long hours in a job I hated that also had a long commute and it was making my symptoms worse (hadn't been diagnosed at this point). Anyway I had to stop work eventually as I felt so dreadful and even though I was glad not to be in that job anymore, not working was also miserable for me. I felt quite low and couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I had to take some time to learn to manage my condition but in December last year, I decided to return to work and applied for a full time job that I liked the sound of. I wasn't successful and felt very disappointed, however early this year a another job opportunity came up that I went for. I applied and was successful this time and I started 4 weeks ago. This one is only part time and close to home but having started it, I now realise in retrospect that this is much more suitable than the previous job so it has worked out for the best. I hope something comes along for you soon. x

Glad to hear it all worked out for you. I didn't think you were being glib , like I said , it is tough here at the moment and it was a way out . Just disappointed

So sorry you didn't get the job but you did brilliantly getting in the last two. Sometimes itnisnt our knowledge or anything we haven't done correctly it perhaps is how you would slot into the team they already had. I always rang back if it was a job I had really wanted to see whether there was anything that I could improve on next time. Once it was as simple as me being more qualified than the person who was going to be my immediate supervisor so she told her boss (she had been there about 10 years) that this made her feel uneasy, grhh! As Ramjets says there might be something even more suitable just around the corner. Good luck with the job hunting.xxx
