Hi TeeDee63, sorry to hear you're having such pain. I often get painful teeth when I have a flare up. It sometimes feels as if I have toothache but other times my teeth, guns and has just ache. I know it sounds silly saying your teeth ache but it's the best description I can give. It's more than an ache but not a bad pain, although it is very uncomfortable.
Hope this helps. I know it's to do with my fibro because it comes and goes, usually if I've done too much and it seems to be a warning that if I don't take it easy I'll get a bad flare up. Hope you get yours sorted. Jen. 💕
Are you on any of the anti epileptic drugs as these can cause bleeding to the gums. I was referred to the dental unit at Kings College and they managed to rebuild my teeth. Yes I do think fibro is to blame for the state of my mouth. Kings gave me mouth guards and ended up crowning the broken teeth for me - all free of charge as it's a teaching hospital and the almost qualified students do the work under the strict supervision of consultants. Couldn't fault their work.
My teeth ache a lot when i eat, Ive taken to a soft diet for now, I am using the sensitive toothpaste it does help, I know that I have sjorgrens and it all started in my mouth with a sore cracking and stinging tongue-maybe ask gp about SICCA similar to sjorgrens but common I was told with fibro and other neuro conditions, I have a gum shield for night time from the dentist he say i grind (I know i do) and I have worn my top fangs flat...
If your gums are bleeding you may have gum disease. Try using Corsydl mouthwash (original NOT 'daily' formula) for a couple of weeks to see if it improves. It's very strong tasting but works very well. If you notice an improvement continue to use for about 3 months I think it is, then switch to the daily formula along with your usual dental hygiene routine.
I suffer with sore teeth and I have had a lot crumble away to the point I think I only have my bottom set left .. Most of my top teeth are on a plate now .... My dentist doesn't know why they are getting so bad when there is no decay so I don't have an answer either for you ....
I have taken on board your comments, and think I will visit my dentist again and mention fibromyalgia, and maybe she will have some knowledge on the impact fibromyalgia can have on teeth.
It’s so worrying feeling my teeth literally crumble away😢
