Can anyone give me a clue as what to do for a hobby! I’m finding it really hard to find a hobby that will suit myself with this condition! Thanks folks x

Hey Gypsylee , sounds like you have tried some things so may help others to suggest suitable ones if you let us know what you have already attempted and also what your limitations are? Some of my less active hobbies are reading, writing and adult colouring books as they help me relax and are also a distraction. x

I love adult colouring books they have saved my sanity many a time when i get very upset about the pain and frustrating i suffer with. This morning for example i was trying to take the lights of the tree and because i couldn't move the wire i threw a wobbly and ended up in tears. Hubby gave me a cuddle and made sit down with the books and do some colouring. Helps me no end i have them all over the house where i spend time.xx

It's true you can get very absorbed in them so they temporarily take your focus off things that may be upsetting you...plus you have lovely pic at the end of it! x

Its the art of slowing down and not going over the lines that reduces the stress and frustration.xx

I cannot walk very far due to mobility, my hands ache quite a lot and I have bad fatigue, I have often thought of doing something for charity but do not know where to start as I am limited to what I do due to exhaustion! I just want to feel that what ever I do is for a purpose and worthwhile x

I too have been thinking about charity work. I am thinking about befriending an elderly person in my area. I would have to go in all cheery and positive and I think that this would do me good as well as the other person. Xx

Ps - I also suffer from fatigue and my legs ache 😖 but I do think this is something I could manage to do.

Hui hun- yes I know what you mean, I used to dance and teach, I cant do that now and so I dont go along as not being able to join in usually annoys me and men who I have to refuse a dance (it considered rude to refuse) I can still knit but in short spurts as my hands and posture suffer. Are you still working? I joined a hydrotherapy group and we often go to a locals pub/cafe after a session, its good to chat and share ideas and have a good moan too!

wow I would love to find a hydrotherapy place. I used to do loads of adult colouring but lost interest. really depressed as on no medication yet after being diagnosed 3 weeks ago. no letter has arrived to me or g.p. having to chase all the time. xx

Hi Gypsylee, I would recommend free university short courses. Loads of subjects and some only a couple of hours a week. I find it a great way to keep my mind occupied. 😊

it's hard to find something. I had to give up golf last year. all I have left is short mat bowls and struggling to even do that. you feel your life is over. can' t even go for a decent walk anymore. I do sympathise with you. I can't hold a job down either. not worked for 2 and a half years. x

Hi there I find one thing that makes me happy is to listen to the radio or a favourite cd , I quite often find myself hummy away and playing some old favourites as well, takes me back as I relate to cetain songs take me back to a period in time , or an event that makes me smile , I find often music channels on tv allsorts of generes to choose from . My other pastime when it warms up is growing seeds and planting in the garden although like you say with our condition I can be very limited to what I can do on the day, but I'll never give up being outside even for half an hour just makes me switch off, so enjoy what ever hobbies you do xxxx

I enjoy colouring, but I buy books of cards & envelopes to colour, so I have something useful at the end. For Christmas my Mum gave me some gift bags to colour in!

Continuing the theme of education, I find Highbrow interesting. As long as you don't click on premium courses they are free. They are short bite size courses-unlikely to lead to qualifications and cover all sorts of topics. They come to your inbox every day and take little time to read. I also write a diary and write in my diary my hassles, any swear words aimed at people I would not say etc.

The cards that I like are sold in books by the National Trust, I got the first book from an NT shop, but I've discovered they also sell them on Amazon.
