Hi, I would just like to ask if anyone has a stomach that makes them look pregnant. I have put on 3 stone in about 3 years. all on my stomach. it's not flab, it sticks out making me look pregnant. eating makes it worse. I do have I.b.s. which flares up occassioonally.

Hi there, Some people do seem to put on weight in certain areas of their bodies more than others. I know mine always go's right to my tum and yep I look pretty preggo. But then I have become very over weight. IBS also can blow up our tummy. The way I look at it it's all down to food. I love my food lol But i am going on an eating plan come the new year and I will see what difference it makes if any :) xx

Oo Momo, are you really going on an eating plan. I really need to go on one too as my stomach is too big these days and I know I must do something about it soon but like you , I do love food. I’ve bought a book about Blood sugar diet but haven’t got around to reading it yet. In the past I’ve had some success with the 2/5 fast diet so will consider that one too.well done for making the decision. I’m not quite there yet

my stomach has been like this for a couple of years. my I.b.s. had been dormant up until I was put on hydroxy for lupus, now I have been told it's fibromyalgia. I was on wrong meds and made me worse plus flared my I.b.s.

Yep, I could have written this! I’m exactly the same, three stone in three years. I feel like my metabolism has slowed right down.

I don't have much appetite at all. I feel uncomfortable when I do eat anything. X

Hi yes I have the same problem too. I had ovarian cysts earlier this year which can cause your abdomen to swell up, but I have been free of them since the summer. Yet I’m still looking pregnant.

Hi to all of you! I too looked 9 months pregnant with twins, every time I ate I blew up huge and had pains, swung between diarrhoea and constapation.

Felt and looked very ill. Finally after 4 years got diagnosed with a condition called Dysbiosis.

If you want to know more don’t hesitate to contact.

It causes food to ferment, and causes a lot of weight gain.

Please could you send a link? 😊

Hiya thanks for posting this, I thought it was just me, though did have a suspicion it was fibromyalgia related. I'm really slim but yet have an oversized tummy looking early pregnancy! Had this for a few years now. It's not extra fat, or bloating, I don't have ibs. My stomach muscles tighten over it so it's not something I could lose through sit ups or anything, not that I can do those! I'm vegetarian and have been dairy free for six months and that hasn't made any difference. I have come to accept it now I guess.

There's no pain, no other symptoms. Through other worries I've had an xray and ultrasound in the vicinity of my stomach area and nothing untoward has been picked up. Actually it was my chiro who suggested that the bowel fights the majority of the body's problems so perhaps as fibromyalgia has set up camp in my body its caused my tummy to mass a bit in response. I don't see it changing now unfortunately. Luckily if I need to I can still suck it in to squeeze in something, though that's super uncomfortable and often painful so nowadays I wear loose clothing and try and ignore it! I personally think it's fibromyalgia related as I say. But anyone with concerns should definitely check out with a gp, as in that area lots of things could be the cause. All the best xx
