Hi there Dotpot3 real feel for you right now it hurts more when it's your partner and family how long have been diagnosed xx
Hi Dotpot, It is so upsetting when the people closest to you don't understand and don't give you their support. I told my family to imagine having the worse flu with all the aches and pains, without a runny nose.
Some people can't deal with illness. I think it scares them x
think you have hit the nail on the head there. It is scary and having been on the other end when the old man had two heart attacks within a month I got a taste of what it's like being unable to change things. I would rather have gone through it myself than be the one phoning the emergency services and standing by just watching. Certainly has given me more insight into how it feels watching someone you love suffer. We all react differently - some are born carers and some are not. Some will put their head in the sand and not want to face up to the fact that things have changed and some will meet the challenge head on.
The unknown is frightening. If we had half a limb that's visual. Knowing that this condition is disabling is difficult for people to take on board, they just don't see it.
This must be hard to take on board that your husband doesn't understand what your body puts you through.
I would get him to read about this illness and the effects it has on you and your family. Sometimes having a long time illness can affect all the family. It's important that you and they understand the impact this brings to your life's. Could you not ask your GP to have a word with your husband to support you more.
A Big hug/ understanding goes a long for both of you.
Same situation... when I find a solution I'll let you know 😞
Hello Dotpot am sorry that your husband doesn't understand it is hard get him to look on this site and see all the comments that are made by real people not just leaflets, it might help but a lot of people are scared of illness but this one does not kill you so that should help them to listen.
Love & Hugs
Xx
