Hello Kadenone and a warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can find help, support, ad vice and understanding. Our mother site fmauk.org has a wealth of information about fibro including guides and links.

I am sorry to hear you are not doing so well and yes, it is soul destroying when we can't do the things we used to do.

It does not help when we make comparisons, this is you now, and although it can be very depressing until you come to terms with it, surprisingly there are compensations.

I cannot get on the floor to play with my grandchildren, but we can have lovely cuddles when we look at a picture book or read stories.

I no longer juggle a job and home and rush about trying to fit things in. I have more time to chat on the phone to friends, to meet up for coffee or have them to visit. I enjoy the peace of being able to finish a puzzle or catch up on a television programme. What were you always wishing to do when you were working? Now you have the time.

You will find your niche, at the moment you are still grieving for the life you once had, and it will catch you at odd moments and when you are having bad days, that's okay and perfectly natural.

Be kind to yourself and remember you are not alone.

All Best Wishes

Kay

Sounds like you have chronic fatigue aswell hun, can I ask how old you are? I have to liquidise my food most days otherwise I go into spasms of hiccups and pain in my gullet because food is sitting near a massive hiatus hernia.. Weight is much easier to gain than lose so keep your g.p informed, maybe ask him for some Fortisip Drinks which are on prescription BUT are not to replace your food just to top up vits&minerals. Your g.p is probably right about fibro BUT you do need to get help learning to cope with it or your fatigue will become a serious issue, ask to sent to a specialist physio and may he/she will get you some hydro or acupuncture along with some gentle exercise and input on fatigue and pacing your body.. Good luck keep with us lots of good advise on here..
