Anyone become intolerant to bread etc?
Have you ever been tested for Coeliac Disease?
No Mary I've only been like this recently can it suddenly come on? How do you get tested?
I was tested for Coeliac Disease by a Gastroenterologist but I think GP can also arrange test.
If this is the first episode, do you think you may have caught a gastric bug? Or maybe food poisoning?
I had a bug a short while back, the abdominal pain was horrendous. The D&V so bad that I lost a stone in weight in 3 days. The pain so bad and need to go to loo so frequent that I suffered sleep depravation. The Out-of-hours GP called around and gave me something for the nausea and I got 2 hours sleep for which I was extremely grateful.
Are you able to drink plenty of water. Is there someone who can pop out to buy you some Blackcurrant flavour Diarolytes? Supermarkets have their own brand which are cheaper. Or drink sugared water. Fox's Glacier Mints and Fruits will help or Mints Imperials ( if made with peppermint oil and glucose).
Hope you are feeling better.
For more info on Celiac's you could look on Gluten Free forum - but could be unrelated short term illness??
🐥x
Maybe u already had a bug and whatever you eat will trigour it off?lots of fibro sufferers tell us they get ibs! If it happensagain get tested for wheat intolerance. Possible coeliac !
Hi Ashleyw1987 do you suffer from IBS I usually kick starts mine if i eat too much starch or it can depend on what I ate with the pasta ?

Morning I woke up after eating pasta bolonese 2 glass of white wine as a end of week treat( I have come off all meds at moment expect for codiene occasionally as had so much tummy troubles) was lovely but had me running for the bathroom yes it seems a lot of us fibros have do seem to have problems-but I would get checked out with the doc with testing done. I know there is some people swear they improve by looking into what they eat drink and has improved things . Let us know how you get on x
Welcome to fibromyalgia! You are pretty much wheat & lactose intolerant from now on.
Rice noodles not egg.
Sainsbury's do the best fresh baked GF white or seeded brown bread.
No MSG
You need your extra magnesium, curcumin, cod liver oil, & medication.
CBD oil & tablets are great.
Party amounts of alcohol will hurt you big time.
Don't give up what you love, just tailor it to what you can tolerate.
Take care, and good luck.
Thankyou I feel my body's changed dramatically over the last few months it's started with really bad pain with citalopram felt like I couldn't get out of my bed in the morning my neck and back was so stiff was getting pains everywhere that would come and go I'm finally on setraline which has helped my anxiety a lot still have all the other Nasty symptoms of fibro. Especially the feeling of being too hot all the time. But the pains are not as bad now get pains now and then it's more now my body aches here and there if I lean back on the side of my sofa ny back feels very saw. Really bad hip pain comes and goes. Can this still be fibro?
Yes,I have a yeast allergy and as it ferments in the gut releasing it's poisonous gasses into the blood stream it is debilitating .I avoid bread like the plague..
This is my own personal experience and of course I am not suggesting everyone who has fybro has a yeast intolerance...
Hope you feel better soon.
Carol.
Yes, I have problems with bread, cakes, pies, biscuits, even porridge. The gas and bloating are horrendous. Having said that, I Can manage wholemeal and Artisan breads and those using Spelt flour.
I would suggest getting a bloodtest through your GP for Coeliac, and see where it goes from there.I am awaiting the results of my test.
I have found that if I eat white bread I get that response. I eat seeded breads now with no problem.
I have Celiac Disease and the first step is to go to your GP and ask for a blood test for Celiac. If it is positive, you will then be sent to hospital for further tests to confirm. If the test is negative, you can still be intolerant to gluten ( wheat, barley, rye). If you are intolerant, you will still get the symptoms, but it doesn't cause your body any permanent damage. However if you are diagnosed with Celiac Disease, you have to adhere to 100% gluten free diet, as it actually does permanent damage to your body. Hope your problems calm soon!
