Hey everyone, I guess you heard of it, Lady Gaga is suffering from fibromyalgia and there is a documentary coming on the 22nd on Netflix. It's called 5 foot 2.
I'm glad this shed so much light on our condition and really changes reactions we get from non sufferers.
Hi, whilst I think this is good that she has come forward as a celebrity she has had it for a while I remember reading about it last year other celebs have it to Morgan Freeman is one. What concerns me is that if I’m a few months she The does s tour and is doing all the wild stuff she does and dances around the stage etc. People may look at her and say well she has got over fibro so why can’t you. Now we know it doesn’t work like that as we can have good days and bad but the general public don’t know this. I still think they should do a documentary on a group of people who suffer fibro and show how it affects different individuals as we are all saying what works for one doesn’t always work for another and there are so many symptoms out there. On This Morning Dr Chris said it’s an illness that can cause fatigue and muscle pain but my pain is not muscular it’s in my joints not the muscles if any muscles are affected on me I would stay my neck and shoulders but I think a lot of that is stress. He did also say it caused depression. I guess all we can do is wait and see.
I suppose a celebrity having this will raise the profile of the condition, but whether it helps or not I don't know? We had friends here today who had met up with another couple we know. The wife was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a bit before me. Our friends spent some time telling us how unwell this poor lady was. When I said "That's what I've got!" they both looked at me and said, "Oh she's much worse than you, you seem fine!" Maybe I just try and keep up a cheerful front, however bad I feel inside?
I hope for all suffers that she changes her ways, and that the dwp does not think it is a 'trivial' condition and plays harder ball with all those who go through hell with the condition,, take it easy, have a brew and be kind to yourselves, and do one thing at a time,,,ttfn from karen.
