Pip claim

Having decided to go for a reconsideration on my claim was told I needed proof of illness from doctor and also letters from friends and family who help me. My doctor was quite willing to help me gave me copies of my test result letters and also wrote a letter from me also my family wrote letters for me handed them into cab so the guy can look over them before my appointment next week and posting them away. Reading the letters I was shocked by what the revealed I wondered why I had urgent camera check I asked why but was told it's just routine I have just found out that they had suspected me of having cancer I know that this was always a possibility of it coming back again but it's still a shock luckily I am still clear of cancer but there still is something wrong just can't pronounce the word or even remember what it is and still got to go for some echo scan thing again to see how my heart is as I damaged it when I had blood clots on my lungs so just need to wait and see what happens now

PIP can be a massively intimidating and the process very frightening. I can speak from first hand experience, I had never been through the process until I needed so I wasn't sure what to expect.

If you don't get awarded keep fighting go through Mandatory Reconsideration you must state what grounds you want to appeal on. If it's several things then list them. Also write a letter separately to too this and request a copy of your medical assessment and all the paperwork they hold. With your mandatory reconsideration send as much paperwork as you can also I did a statement of how my health affects daily. State how your health is when it is at it's worse.

If you then are not awarded go to tribunal ask seek advice from CAB

Inbox me if you get stuck with any of it.

Good luck and take care!

Hi,

I have had polymyalgia for two years ,its something that i find sometimes unbearable and if i was a dog i would be put down by now.

i have been on dla for an accident i had in 2000 and got the decision indefinitely as high rate mobility and low rate care as i was looked after by my wife, who suddenly decided it was to much for her,she should have tried it from my end.Now i was on my own.

I got help from cab as sometimes i shake so much i cant write, they filled in my forms and under my guide put names and addresses and phone numbers of my docs, consultants and anybody that has files on my condition.

so there i was thinking that there was not a prob with any of it.

Then i got the brown envelope with my appointment with pip consultant,i phoned and explained my position that i may be to unwell to attend and could i request a home visit. i got a phone call back to say there was nothing in my form to suggest that i would be to unwell yo attend and if i didnt that dla was going to stop.I was stunned at that decision.

anyway long story short my son took me and i crawled into the place, and did my twenty min assessment, one week later got the decision standard living and standard mobility.

i phoned two of the people on my form ie docs and ot.

Dwp had not contacted anyone, and i was 2 points short on both counts.

I then asked for a mandatory review and although it cost me 100 pounds for letters to back up my condition and a letter i penned myself which was hardly readable .2 days later i got high rate on pip on both.

The moral is take as much info from all your depts as you can,i was lucky that i had the money to pay for these letters others have not, i thoufght that dwp were responsable for getting info on me to back up my claim they dont bother so just a warning to others.

i also got the decision for five years instead of the one year they origanally told me.

sorry for spelling and for reading but its take me to long to write this
