Hello jaquiRo. My son was born with extra bones in his feet and i have never heard of anyone else having it. It took years of swollen ankle and crutches before a little old doctor spotted the problem on an x ray, just after being told one again that there was nothing wrong. Oh the relief. So at 14 he finally had an op to remove the bone from his right foot and left the other alone as it was not causing any problems.

He is now in his 40s and still needs to wear an ankle brace but it doesnt stop him doing 16 mile mountain trail hikes.

Good luck. I, like you am also fed up with hospitals. :P

Hi there,

I know how you feel about hospitals. I'm thinking of getting a season ticket..lol...it might be cheaper! It's a 32mile round trip to get to our nearest hospital, and then you usually have to get something to eat. It's a lost day by the time your finished. Sad thing is....it often feels like a wasted journey as you feel you're no further forward at the end of it. 😞

I hope you get sorted out with your feet.

Good luck.

GP? 😀😀

Well again I came out feeling terrible.....

He said that a lot of my pain is down the the arthritis in my ankle (Where does that leave me?)

He is sending me to a dietician... (what does he think I don't get to my age and not know about carbs protiens) I actually looked at him and said you are like most who think I sit at home and eat cream cakes and take outs all the time! He just had a blank look on his face. I told him a lot of my meds don't help and I have to have them for my Trigeminal Neuralgia and I asked the neuro what can I do and he said weight gain and no pain or slimmer and pain your choice! Again a blank look. I also told him that I used to do delivery rounds (dont want to promote a company here lol) and my round was over 10 miles and I had two and I would be more than happy to walk that.. but I can't do that now... I am too tired and in too much pain.

And sending me for guided steriod injections again in both feet. (Wait could be up to 6 months and by then back hurts more and hips as hobbling around)and it would be too much for him)

He said he didn't want to operate on me... (the look he gave me was as if I was some massive rhino

So all in all... a wonderful trip to the hospital. I didn't even stop for a coffee !

These extra bone parts are grown from the ages around 3 - 14 years of age and it is very painful to walk.

Healing blessings to all x

Tegratol keeps my Trigeminal Neuralgia under control pretty much all of the time. I keep the doseage low but accept that there will be breakthrough attacks every few days and sometimes several days in a row. They can last up to half an hour but the certainty of their passing makes it bearable.

Giving the pain that 30 odd minutes I can accept. Other pai, n like that stemming from my osteoarthritis, has no set parameters and I never know how intense the pain will be.

Fibromyalgia pain is difficult to distinguish from the osteoarthritis type.

My weight gain is from limited exercise and too much sitting a out nibbling here and there when I would rather be out doing things. It's a small gain though.

Best of luck with your feet. Feet comfort is so important to the rest of moving.

Dee

Sorry to hear you are having a time of it, It is hard living with chronic pain and none of us would take meds if we didn't have to and they all have some sort of side effects. I do hope things improve for you God Bless x

Yes it's like an outing. Might have a picnic next time.

I've got a nub or something on my foot. It can be really annoying.

I'm so deeply sorry that you are on pain and had to spend the day waiting. (I hate the waiting, my appointment was at this time, so i should see your face at this time. End of story)

And if he asks about weight gain, You should tell him it's because you spend so much time sitting waiting in his office and the pills. : ) sorry that might seem a bit sharp. But he started it. :)

I hope you are home now resting and feeling better.

Take care×
