I have heard this so often lately....you get all hyped up and anxious and then THE PHONE CALL......It is so disheartening! I do wonder what is happening with the NHS it just doesn't seem to function well at all now.....!!

Hi Flyby7 .I understand just how frustrating this is for your wife and you.

Some years back I was due for an op of a gynaecological nature.

My appt came thru,Got wound up and worried myself silly for days, got to the hospital all hyper and I was .even given the pre-med.Was lying in my bed waiting to go to theatre when a nurse came in and said can we contact someone to collect you. You will have to go home.We have runout of operating time so it will have to be rescheduled.

if it wasnt for the fact that I was skimming the ceiling with pre-med drugs anyway I would have really let rip.

My husband arrived about an hour later to take me home but I couldn't even stand up properly from the effect of the drugs, and had to be wheel haired to the car.Was well out of it all the way home.

That morning I had been up at 6.30am.had just a sip of water to take tabs,Told not to eat or drink anything, then sent home about 6 pm in the evening with only a cup of tea and a shrivelled up sandwich.

It was over 2 months before my new appt came through.

It was appalling.

I hope your appt can be rescheduled soon.

Crusee.
