Just had decision for my Pip appeal after the tribunal hearing that had been delayed for 6 months!!!
It is a big fat NO, I knew it would be and I wasn't present for the final decision by the judge as I had to be at the hospital having my pacemaker checked.
So another refusal and a friend has also had his refused just a few weeks ago too. His issues far outweigh mine and they have stopped his and turned down his new app.
I just dunno how I am going to cope that little bit extra cash would've helped so much, these people making these decisions have no real idea about life with pain and disability.
I am so annoyed and hurt and feel they didn't believe a word I said and it's like they put everyone in the "talking crap" file
I am so sorry to read your post it is awful when you are genuinely ill and the extra money would make such a difference to your life. We had to go to two tribunals about my Ohs ESA some years back and had a wait of almost a year, then they needed more evidence and said we would be called back in about 6 weeks and it was nearly another year. We never wanted to go through that again. I know from the statistics you are unfortunately more likely to be successful if you can go yourself in the day to fight your corner. I fully understand that after having a 6 months delay and needing your pacemaker checked you wouldn't want to try and change the date. Hope all went well in the heart front at least.
Are you going to reapply it has it knocked the stuffing out of you.?x
I wont be applying again this was my 3rd time in over 2 yrs my partner has just been made redundant and leaves work on 31st of this month which will not leave us much after we pay most of what he gets which isnt much for 12 yrs service towards our mortgage.
So hopefully he will find work quickly and we can keep the house.
As for pip total waste of time people getting it who really shouldn't and that happens with all benefits.
I do hope you can keep the house. My husband became ill 8 years back and more or less to the day one year later I became ill so we lost incomes so I can commiserate. We did have the security of having paid off our mortgage but ended up having to dig deep into savings. Do hope your partner can get a new job asap.x
Hi abracadabra, I do know there is more chance of winning a tribunal if you are present and they can ask you how you are affected by your illnesses. Sorry you have lost, I know it makes you feel awful, but it isn't your fault it is theirs, dwp are trying their best to put people off apying for anything. You can start a new application and you can also request a statement of reasons from judge to see how they came to their conclusion this may help you make a better application. It is also more helpful to get C A B or a disability charity to help you with the process as they have a lot of experience and know how to fill forms in best way . Sorry you have had to suffer this process I know how appalling it can make you feel I wish you all the best and the strength to reapply when you are ready
