Hi all πŸ‘‹ My name is louise but I call myself nightowllouise here as it's appropriate for me and my sleep pattern lol .I stumbled across this site looking for things on memory loss/fibo fog. I do worry about it quite a lot as it is a worry forgetting to pay a bill or an appointment. The annoying thing is remembering it late evening after missing it that morning πŸ™€πŸ˜• when all I've done is said it over n over to myself so not to forget and still forget πŸ™ I no loads of people suffer from this was wondering if there is any test for it or symptom checker etc .. just to be sure that's all it is x many thanks x

Hi nightowllouise

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted for you below a link to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

fmauk.org/

I am so genuinely sorry to read of your memory issues, and there is a test called the: Addenbrooke's cognitive examination. *Wikki says:

*Addenbrooke's cognitive examination (ACE) is a brief neuropsychological assessment of cognitive functions and a development on the Mini–mental state examination, which it incorporates. The test is widely used for determining mild cognitive impairment and dementia. The test includes measures of language, memory, visuospatial skills, and orientation. The test does not adequately test for apraxia.]

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi,

I too suffer this and at first it was a lighthearted oh aren't I forgetful etc but I don't really find it funny now. I keep a notepad by my bed,by the sofa, kitchen and dinner table so I can quickly write stuff down as otherwise it's so hard to recall it. I'm an administrator so for my job it's a nightmare again I have to constantly make notes and it's impacting on me.

I'm sorry to hear you are suffering too and you'll find a lot of support here. There is also a fibromyalgia closed Facebook group for support too. Wishing you well x

Hi nightowllouise!

I too have this pattern and have learnt many fibro sufferers do to. I have periods of no sleep at all for three days then no sleep all night but sleep from dawn until eleven is my standard pattern. At the moment I have slept a few nights from 11pm to 7am. But it has been broken fitful sleep and I'm exhausted and want to go back to my no sleep all night but some at dawn. My condritis is playing up this morning too but it will pass.

I have the same fibro fog and memory issues. I was even taken into A&E with what they called delirium I think. But I answered all Mother Drs questions like date, name, where I was, counting backward etc. I too have notebooks and a big wall diary but I still miss appointments often I write down the wrong date in the first place! I find I get confused over terms like next weekend etc. This is all with a partner who tries to organise me though her Irish sense or lack of timekeeping is legendary! Lol

I used to get very cross about missing appointments and letting people down until one kind consultant said to me it's ok, we understand and expect it your very ill! Plus a gap in our hectic day allows us a breather or to catch up so don't worry. I think acceptance that it's part and parcel of fibro and just do your best, now where did I put that notebook ...........

Good morning....I was also like yourself and told my GP how worried I was and he did a blood test which showed I did not have dementia which was a terrific relief to me as you can imagine...maybe ask your GP for the same.....Wishing you a good day as possible...x

Welcome to the forum. Nightmare isn't it. I have a diary permanently open in the kitchen and write in red anything important. I also have a blackboard placed next to it and chalk on things that have to be done and have an electronic diary on my tablet that gives me reminders. I have e a printed list with little boxes for all our normal a grocery a needs a and a if I use something have it handy so I can tick the box so I know I have to order it. I found if I don't do the task immediately I forget so I now try to be very disciplined. I admit to being a dismal failures at this somedays. Look forward to your future posts.x

Not only do I have a calendar at home, i put everything on the calendar on my laptop and on the calendar at work. That way maybe just maybe I will arrive in time for my appointments. Of course it depends on putting the right information on there in the first place. Have turned up a month early for my dentist appointment as I put the appointment on the wrong month :) Got to laugh otherwise we would cry.

Don't worry, I have severe memory issues, I am also losing things all the time as well and get really angry when I cant find keys etc -I even hit myself with anger. I also have the co-ordination issue, I have lost my car and totally forgotten where I had parked it, I have also gone the wrong way to places - knowing where I want to be but not knowing how to get there.

I welcome you to the site and I am sure you will find many friends with similar symptoms.
