Hi all new to this page just wanting some info really..basically I haven't been diagnosed with fibro but my ribs have been hurting for nearly 3 years and I mean hurting πŸ™πŸ˜ž had all the tests done nothing found I also suffer terribly with ALL of my back and its agony.. my shoulder and my neck are horrendous and now the top of my leg is starting and this cause me to limp last few days also my gut is starting to hurt long story short went for a massage the lady there suggested I may have fibro because of all the pain I am in in different places the dr just throws painkillers at me and I'm left suffering terribly at age 30 which is still quite young... so I guess any advice or anyone feeling the same? I feel rather lost and really down tbh because no 1 is helping me with this pain...thanks for reading x

Welcome to the forum. Have a look at our mother site Fibromyalgia Action UK as there is a wealth of information about treatments both drugs and alternatives. My major start of fibro was through something called costo chondritis which is inflammation of the connective tissue around the ribcage. Mine felt as though some one had kicked me all around my rib cage and I also had burning shooting pains. Sometimes it was so intense just breathing was agony and I would air there frightened to move.

I find freeze gel rather than a bit rub does help with the hit pain and it has certainly reduced in intensity since being on Pregablin. Also very gentle stretching exercises can help unknot the muscles. Have you tried a Tens machine on the back pain as it is very successful in taking the edge off the intense pain for many.

You have my sympathy. I look forward to your future posts.x

Hello Tara123 and a warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can get advice. support. help and understanding.

I am sorry to hear of your pain and the trouble you have in getting a true diagnosis by your GP.

I suggest you ask your GP for a rheumatology appointment where you may get your condition confirmed. Fibro tends to be the diagnosis when all the other tests including xrays and blood tests have come back negative. There is no set test for fibro as such, although some doctors use a pressure test to help, if slight pressure is put on certain points of the body, it feels as though it hurts out of all proportion to the effort put in. This is probably why your massuese suggested fibro.

If you feel that you are getting nowhere with your GP, ask the practice manager or receptionist if there is a doctor within the practice who has an interest in rheumatological

conditions, and aim to see him in future. Failing that, I suggest you change surgeries altogether as you cannot carry on as you are.

Our mother site fmauk.org has a wealth of information including guides and links.

Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

Kay
