A few weeks ago I was home alone pottering about cleaning the house all of a sudden I had a crushing pain in middle of chest through to my back it was so painfully I couldn't straighten up it carried on for a while so I called 111 as it was chest pain they sent a ambulance crew I felt such a fool for wasting their time they did ECG and other tests and come to the conclusion it was stomach problems causing it I had to see my doctor who has since put me on omaprazole to settle my stomach I wondered if any one else had suffered these pains it felt like someone had grabbed me and crushing me.

Chest/stomach pain
Yes I had exactly the same some years back it is quite frightening as you start to wonder whether it is a heat attack. It turned out that I had the same acid problem and have been on Lansaprazole ever since.x
Hi Kjb121 many people have suffered from this and been pit on operamzole.
Often it can be gastric problems but always better to get checked by professional.
Good luck my friend
Hi Kjb121
I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I truly hope that you are feeling much better now? I experienced something similar just a few weeks ago and it turned out I was having a reaction to one of my diabetic medications. They have since changed it for a different drug. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
I had the same thing happen to me in January. I was standing in my kitchen one morning making my builders a cup of tea and all of a sudden out of nowhere, I had the most horrific crushing pain in the middle of my chest going right through to my back, it was like an elephant was standing on my chest. Builders looked after me, sat me down talked to me trying to distract me bcoz the pain was literally unbearable, then I got jaw lock, pain in jaw and funny feeling in my face. Went straight to doctor who sent me to AAU in hospital. Terrible Hospital, did blood test an ECG after sitting on a plastic chair for an hour, then sat me on another plastic chair for five hours. Didn't show the heart attack enzyme so sent me home with referral to chest pain clinic and for a 24 heart monitor. Never heard anymore. I don't think it was stomach related because I was already on Omeprazole for protection against Naproxen. The doctor in AAU did say it could be Fibromyalgia related because I suffer many different severe cramps including intercostal/between ribs.
Hope you feel better and this doesn't happen to you again, I have to say its terrifying when it happens x
hi there,
Yes I've had this a few times felt like a heart attack it was agonising. Attended a&e just like you sent home nothing on tests.
I have GERD which is a reflux issue I too take meds like you. I had a barrium swallow x ray which identified it. however I was not told by consultants how I would need to change diet on Friday it was a speachild and language therapist who discussed and provided info almost a year later.
I haven't experienced one sonce 22.03.17 so that's pretty good.
take care x
Yes, I get similar. I now realise I've had fibro symptoms for years but didn't realise.
I used to eat indigestion pills thinking that was cause. Then mini asprin. When all the fibro symptoms really kicked in GP ordered an ECG, chest X-ray and then the respiratory clinic dr ordered a full body scan. Nothing showed up, which is good as I'm 62 and every older relative has died of heart disease.
Searching online I read a few things about chest pain as you describe being part of fibromyalgia. If you google costochondritis you will find information but maybe also get your GP to do an ECG at the surgery to put your mind at rest.
