No sleep: Hi I'm jay..I been on 50mg of... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
No sleep
You are not alone. 30mg of amitriptyline, maximum I can get is 5 unrestful hours. I end up going to bed at about 1am just to avoid waking before 6 am. You could try home remedies like a bath, warm drink, chamomile or lavender drops on your pillow. None of them work for me but maybe you'll have better luck.
Every few weeks, on a Friday, I deliberately wear myself out with walks, cleaning, etc so I can get a full night. Before I go to bed, I dose up on cocodamol 30mg to ease the pain for the morning, and avoid drinking lots of water so I don't have to wake for the toilet. I usually end up spending the following day in bed too, but at least one feels a little more rested, albeit for only one day.
Hope you find some relief soon.
Hi have you tried (5htp) ? Its an all natural ingedients herbal supplement, i find it helps me to relax a little better at night. I take one 200mg capsule about half an hour before bed. Without it, i was getting about the same as you 4 hours, but it was broken sleep, waking many times. It does help some nights, but not every night. However, I would reccomend giving it a try for a couple of weeks, to see how, or if it works for you. I get about 6 Hours most nights now, and is fairly solid sleep......waking a couple of times, as opposed to 15 to 20 times. so it does seem to help a little. Just in case your wondering, i have absolutley no affiliation with this supplement. It was reccomended by my wifes work collegue. Google it, check it out for yourself.....Good luck.
Hi you are not alone I take 125mg at night and I still have broken sleep. I'm also on highest amount of gabapentin due to the pain coursed by fibromyalgia. Hope you get some good sleep soon.
Sorry didn't say it is 125mg amytriptolin
i too am awake nearly all night ,so i may give this (5htp) ? M1key. I have never heard of it .
thanx
Hi folks. About 5-HTP.....it does help with sleep, I've been taking it for two weeks now and yes, it's good. I've read up about it and it affects seratonin levels...helps to raise them. If you're taking duloxetine/cimbalta you SHOULD NOT take 5-HTP. Duloxetine also raises seratonin and if it gets too high it can be really bad...seratonin syndrome...can be fatal I read. This is how I understood it anyway.
Take care out there kids. xx
OH IT SAYS I CAN NOT MIX THEM WITH MY CITALOPRAM !!!!
