Hello Bevikins and a warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can get advice, support, help and understanding. Our mother site fmauk.org has a wealth of informaton about fibro including guides and links.

I must admit, this medication is a new one on me. Are you self treating with this and does your GP know? Please be careful of any interactions with other medications, and also dosage and side effects.

I have had a quick read through and can see it is promoted on another fibro site, but I am not sure what an expectorant type medicine has to do with fibro.

I saw that you can order it from Amazon.com and ebay, but I would caution getting meds this way due to rogue suppliers and impure ingredients.

Welcome again and looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

Hi Kay, yes it was a new protocol on me until last year.. But it is working for me along with the doctors meds . His stance is it doesn't react with my meds and has no adverse effects so go with it if works for me attitude.it works on the idea that fibro is caused by a build of phosphate that cause the pain points and taking the guai simply flushed the phosphate out , all I knw is I can think and don't hurt as much 😊

.I am just wondering if any folks knw of suppliers that don't cost an arm an a leg having to pay the import duties going through America .. Not out to promote it ,👌everyone finds their own way through this illness 😊👌🏼

Hi Bevikins welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.

I'm sorry but I have never heard of the drug you mention. Are you in USA or UK ? I'm presuming USA & you have to pay for them ! Has your GP put you on this medication ?

For an in depth explanation of this treatment and it's effects with fibro, click on this link:

It is a bit of a hefty read and you might need to take a break halfway through!

It does give a good and seemingly well balanced view of fibro and alternative medications.

Hi Bevikins

I have to admit that this medication is a new one on me.

I just wanted to let you know that due to the Rules & Guidelines we have on the forum, if anyone was to know where you can get this from they would need to let you know by private message.

FMA UK's Rules & Guidelines do state that any websites that are advertising any type of goods for sale are not to be posted on the open forum and would have to be taken down by Admin.

However, a member can private message another member with a link if they so wish.

Wishing you a peaceful weekend.

Hi Bevikins

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have never tried this myself, but I have heard arguments for and against the use of Guaifenisin. My own personal opinion would be to ask your GP for a prescription of Nefopam if they feel that you are suitable to take it? As it works with an analgesic effect in the same way as Guaifenisin and would be a great deal cheaper for you.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi Bevikins,

I have read about the G Protocol many years ago. Are there not a lot of things (products) that you have to avoid while on this protocol? It is an ingredient in many cough syrups. I live in Namibia Africa and I couldn't get hold of it here at all. I have also read that it has helped many fibro sufferers. Good Luck
