Has anybody got fibromyalgia and osteomalacia, my doctor Says I may have had a wrong diagnosis and I may only have osteomalacia.
But all my symptoms are from fibromyalgia.
Can we apply for pip if I have fibromyalgia and osteomalacia.

Hi Hidden You can not claim pip for any condition unless it it life threatening, it's how your illness effects you and not what you have or haven't been diagnosed with you I'm afraid and you have to have lots of evidence from the professional health service that have or are treating you, to say how you are effected by your symptoms. Soft bones sometime show up on xray but his is something totally different from fibromyalgia, these thing take a long time to diagnose and they do have to rule out lots of other more serious conditions like RA, Lupus or limes desease etc.
Hope this helps
Luv Jan xx
Sorry you are suffering with those conditions. The diagnoses itself will not help with PIP. It all depends how it's affects you? Is your mobility affected? Are you able to cook/shower independently? Etc
Have a look online to see how many points you may get and if it's worth applying for? It's a very long form to fill in!
I have both, the osteomalacia stems from my inability to metabolise vitamin D, are you on supplements for this xx
Thought you'd already applied for this the other week and CAB was helping you fill the forms in???????
I did go to CAB but they noticed I my time to return the form had gone over which meant the application to be refused. So I have to go through the whole process again, waiting for another form.
So when you get the new one instead of asking questions on here of how to fill it in - suggest you make an appointment straight away with CAB so that you do get it in on time.
Hi Hidden
I am so genuinely sorry to read this, and I am not sure that osteomalacia would qualify you fro PIP on its own? Reading about the illness it is not perceived as a disability sadly by the health services. I had thought that you had previously applied for PIP unless I am wrong? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
