Hello every

Not been very good last week or so..

When I went to the hospital to see the rheumatologist, on the day she said I have fibromyalgia no doubt...I received a copy of her letter for my doctor. It states I have symptoms of fibromyalgia.

So I'm confused ..have I have I not got fibro.

I Tryed to get a doctor appointment to discuss the new meds With my doc and that I'm not coping well.

All I got was a call saying pick up prescription and have blood pressure taken in surgery reception.

Is it me but I'm confused .

Hi, similar for my friend after several appointments a letter said symptoms of fibro and then at the next it confirmed fibro. She says she is not sure whether or not they were just preparing her for the diagnosis or whether that was the way that particular rheumy worked. Mine just wrote fibro on a piece of paper and told me to go research and then discharged me back to GP. Suggest you put your questions in writing to your GP and then ask for a telephone consult to discuss. I have found this the best policy with my GP that way my foggy brain doesn't forget anything.

I was told by the pain clinic meds Dr that I had Fibromyalgia. I said "what are you talking about? " This was never mentioned to me in any Dr/Patient discussion. I was speaking to the meds Dr for pain meds for hEDS. But I was never examined for a diagnosis of Fibro, they just put all the symptoms in a box and tick it, as far as my diagnosis.

As far as I can see, could be totally wrong, Fibromyalgia is symptom diagnosed.

Would love to hear anyone else's experience or thoughts.

Be as well as you can be today

A very good reply from dinkie, yes differently push to see your regular doctor as they are more in tune with your medical history if they have seen you on a more regular basis, yes does sound a bit conflicting, my doctor has written up in full my medical notes as when I saw doctor at CFs clinic she sat on the fence, wrote could be cfs , but he said he had seen me over period of time and agreed that cfs should be written on my notes, so what I’m trying to say is my doctor really made all the desicions. He also diagnosed my Fibro and never saw a rheumatologist. I know what you mean though confused.com xx
