So scared and unhappy

Had a virus, that went but left with heavy right leg which tingles, clumsy right hand and right eyelid feels like it's drooping but when I look in the mirror it's fine. Had it for weeks now. Been taking 60mg Duloxetine for 2 years for Fibro but surely this isn't fibro. There's no pain. I've been Dr's but was fobbed off saying "probably due to virus". I'm convinced it's MS or some life limiting disease. Family must be sick of reassuring me. Feel so alone, scared and down right unhappy :-(

I'm so sorry you have to put up with this and you have no good answers!! How awful for you!! Have you any imaging for your spine where you may have nerves impinged for one reason or another? I know that all of the symptoms are on the right side and I'm just wondering if something is going on at the spinal level? That's overly simplistic but still a possibility for some of your troubles.

I'm glad you aren't having a lot of pain. That part's a blessing. Hopefully you can get in soon to see some doctor who will pay more attention to your problem than the last one. That last one was awful!! Can you get in right away somewhere? I think you need to!

I'll be thinking of you and praying for your excellent care happening for you wherever you decide to go.

Awww {{{HUGS}}} try not to be scared my dear. if the doctor as been unable to find anything wrong take heart that they know what there looking for. I am sure if they saw anything that had worried them they would have done something about it. I do understand how we can worry ourself senseless at times I have done it many times in the past. I wish you had someone at the doctors practise you could talk with.

It's not good they don't seem to have taken your mental state of mind into consideration when only looking at the physical side of your problem. I would definitely go back and try and see another doctor if this is possible.

The mental side can have a large impact on our physical problems. In the same way the physical problems we have can impact our mental state of mind.

I have just had a big talk with my own doctor on this very subject. I am fortunate to have a really understanding doctor. One who believes completely in Fibro. Sometimes we just need some one to talk to someone who understands.

PS maybe you should lock your post my dear then you may get more answers to your post. take care.

Hi, the symptoms you have described are not the usual fibro symptoms. I note you joined a couple of years ago when you had your diagnosis of fibro, and you probably know yourself these symptoms are not typical.

Don't be put off of considering a virus though, as you may have something like Bells Palsy, particularly if you have been stressed or run down lately.

If you are still worried, make an appointment with a different doctor and take someone with you. You could ask for a referral to either a neurologist or rheumatologist, but I expect the doctor may want to carry out some blood tests first.

Please try not to worry, it is not doing you any good to speculate, and stay off of google!

Hi H_K_H i can associate with your post so well and remember feeling exactly the same. I thought i had everything you can imagine, MS, Cancer, the list is endless. Even now after 30 yrs im still not convinced its just Fibro but i do also have Polymyalgia which is more arthritis related & i do have nerve damage in my back & feet. I also get this what you describe with your eye, it almost feels like its closing, its a strange feeling & the gp said it was all to do with damaged nerves. It could be the virus has started a fibro flare and this is causing the tingling & heaviness in your leg. I do get numbness & pins & needles in one foot or one hand etc. As bluebell99 says, the drooping feeling could be Bells Palsey, my sister in law has this now, well she is recovering now but she had it after a very bad virus. Can you see another doctor in the practice ? Maybe get another opinion !

I hope you get it sorted and do let us know how you get on & we are always around, your never on your own my friend.

Peace, luv n light

You mustn't get yourself all flustered & panicky my dear, stress is REALLY not good for you either & Words can be very powerful too, so please stay Calm & speak positively but if you really are concerned then simply get another opinion from another Doctor. Personally I think it's just a nerve thing which in time should pass & there's really no need to take any extra medication if there's no pain involved. Hope all turns out well for you. God bless

Hi hunny I was thinking the same ascBonnie sue - Kay and Janet - it does sound like a nerve problem - I've had Bells Palsy in the past but only affected my face no where else and that is caused by a virus and needs steroids to clear it - go back to docs and try to see a different GP. Take care let's know how you get on. 😘😘😘🤗🤗🤗

Hi H_K_H

I am so genuinely sorry to read this my friend, and as the others have said please do not get yourself worked up over this. When we contract a virus our bodies release an awful lot of antivirus to try and heal ourselves. This could be what is causing the issues that you have now? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
