Hemp oil

Good morning everyone, I hope you had as good a night as possible.

I took a tea spoon full, or 15...possibly 20/25 😂 Of hemp oil last...and I slept! Got up one to use bathroom but by the hokey I went straight back to sleep!

I will definitely get some and stay on it at night for a few weeks and see what happens. Worth a shot.

Has anyone else tried it? Remain blessed and accept my gentle hugs to all. X

That is terrific to get a good nights sleep.....Not sure I know much about hemp oil but will have to investigate. Can it be taken with our other meds I wonder?

Well I took it with my other meds. My gp in machester last summer agreed it was worth trying but it was the cost of it that concerned him. The size of little bottles of oils, lavender. Etc the hemp oil is €35 euros. Recommended dose is 15drops several times a day. So it would work out very expensive. I would be happy if I just was able to take it at night and sleep. I, like most off you probably, could cope with almost anything if I have sleep. Sleep deprivation is a well researched problem which exacerbates other problems. So I'm going to try it for a month at night. However, if my sleeplessness returns while still taking it I don't think I will continue as my body, like every ones, has enough medication for our livers to cope with 😂

Remain blessed and hopeful xx

This will soon be available on prescription soon from doctors it called savetex

Hi Olivia1 I'm glad you have found something that helps you sleep, it does seem to help a lot of ppl. I'm not knocking it in anyway but I do think ppl.also need to know that it has now been listed as a medicine and the reason for this is it helps relax you which helps your pain and your sleep, the same way a dose of opiates would and i think it will be treated as such and your gp would start you on a low dose to introduce your body slowly to make sure you don't have any adverse effects.

WARNING ABOUT THE USE OF THIS MEDICATION WHEN USING OTHER DRUGS

Be aware when you take hemp oil that it will lower your blood pressure which could make you feel a bit dizzy etc. It is also known to lower blood sugar but like all medication, it's always good to talk to your doctor and be safe.

Peace, luv n light

Hi Janet28 and Hidden , I hadn't realised they were going to release it as a medication. Thank you for that information, I will bring it up when I see my GP next.

People in the U.K. will soon be able to use cannabis-based products containing the plant’s medical component cannabidiol, or CBD, according to reports. The Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) classified CBD as a medicine in the U.K. on Tuesday. Department officials, who based the decision on claims that the ingredient has been beneficial in treating serious diseases, were hoping that legalizing CBD for medical use will lead to more research on the effects of the drug.

Unlike marijuana’s psychoactive ingredient tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD releases all of the medicinal benefits of the plant without giving off the high-effect that’s usually associated with cannabis use.

Gerald Heddel, MHRA Director of Inspection and Enforcement, told Sky News the department ruled CBD as a medicine after reviewing several manufacturing companies that made “overt medicinal claims” about products containing CBD helping patients, particularly those suffering from epilepsy.

"The change really came about with us offering an opinion that CBD is, in fact, a medicine, and that opinion was based on the fact that we noted that people were making some quite stark claims about serious diseases that could be treated with CBD,” he said. “It was clear that people are using this product with the understandable belief that it will actually help".

Now that CBD has been classified as a medicine, the MHRA plans to allow manufacturers to produce products and conduct research proving the safety, quality and effectiveness of the plant. By legalizing CBD as a form of medicine, the department was expecting that to cut down online black market sales of CBD, which is how patients have had access to unregulated and potentially harmful products containing the ingredient.

The decision has now been put on hold while the MHRA hold discussions with the newly formed CBD trade body. It seems a possible compromise might be made where CBD sold at 20% strength or less will be sold as a food supplement under a health food license.

In the meantime, it is still legal to purchase CBD (and sell) in the U.K. and it looks likely to remain so this year.

It was pointed out to the MHRA by the CBD trade body that the government's stance is that the illegal version containing both CBD and THC has no medicinal value, which is clearly not the case. I believe they backed down on the original date to make CBD a medicine when faced with legal documents showing the contrary. It is a strange situation given that the MHRA are right!

I use 25% hemp oil for fibro pain, but I have no connection with the MHRA, the trade body or Peter Reynolds.

I've kept up to date with the goings on by reading Peter Reynolds/trade association blog. Fingers crossed that a compromise is reached! 🙂

Sorry I got confused I meant CBD oil has now been passed as a medcian MS pashents get it now but I believe it's going to be Maid available for people with cronic pain

Hi Olivia1

I am so genuinely delighted to read that this is working for you my friend, and I sincerely hope that it continues to do so. As Janet28 says though, it is best to ensure that there are no medication interactions with your other drugs whilst using this my friend. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hello Ken, I have an appt with gp on Tuesday and intend to discuss it with her. I did take the 15drops last night but sadly didn't sleep all night. I tossed and turned and got up a few times. Bah humbug! 😡

Never mind I'm in fantastic company 👍☘️

Hi my friend

I am so genuinely sorry to read that it did not work for you last night. It may well be worth discussing with your GP as I am sure they must have access to the companies that have applied for the Gov. licenses to be able to have it issued no prescription?

Good luck my friend

Ken
